The Female Marine

Chapter 10

Ava's P.O.V

As I'm engulfed in the lung-crushing hug, Athan and Kathe walk in. "Ava?, who are these people?" Kathe questions. "These are my marine friends" I say. "Marine?" Athan asks. Shoot, I haven't told him yet. "Yeah, I forgot to tell you, I was in the marines. I was gonna tell you eventually, I just didn't know when" I say sheepishly. He shakes his head. Ace walks up to him, "Hey, I'm Ace James " he says shaking Athan and Kathe's hands. They nod and then Mason introduces himself. "Hi, my name's Mason Caprese, a friend of Ava's" he smiles his toothy grin. They smile back and shake his hand as well. Next goes Cade, "Sup, I'm Cade McKillin, nice to meet you" he says all cool like. They look at him in awe and shake his hand. I roll my eyes. Last is the very shy Justin, "H-hi, I'm Justin Lewis, I hope we can be friends". I muffle a laugh as they look at him with gooey eyes. "Hi guys, I'm Kathe Riece and this is Athan Heart (I can never remember their last names)." Kathe tells them. "Well now that you all know each other, I think it's safe to say, we'll stay with Ava for a while" Cade says. Kathe and Athan look at me. "I-um...........huh...........um-bu-ye-i....................sure I guess" I say. My mates growl while the boys cheer. "I'm so sorry Ava" Mason tells me. "Thanks guys" I say. "Uh Ava, can we talk alone?" my mates ask. They drag me into the nearest bedroom and close the door. "So little mate, decided that we didn't fulfill your socializing needs?" Kathe asks. I shake my head, "No, I love you guys, but I think having my friends around would help me cope with.......you know" I say. Athan sighs, "I mean.......It wouldn't kill us right?" he looks at Kathe. He nods, "Fine. They can stay, but only for a couple of days okay?"  Athan tells me. I nod and kiss both of them on the cheek. Suddenly the door flings open. "Hey! You're not hurting our girl right?" Cade asks. "Never" They say. They laugh and we all waddle out to the living room. We plop onto the soft couches and my military boys start telling a story. "Hey, remember when Ava first tried to load a gun and nearly shot the commander. He made her do 100 push and pull-ups. It was funny  because she was actually pretty good for a beginner" Mason says. "Yeah, but now I can beat your asses" I say smirking. "Nah, I'm still stronger" Athan says. "You never know" Cade says. Ace and Justin laugh. Athan nods and quiets down. Suddenly the front door slams open. "ALPHA'S!!" the man yells. He looks at Athan and Kathe as the military boys (I'm gonna call them that) make a protective ring around me. Athan and Kathe nod before the man continues. "We've spotted rouges, they killed Maya and her daughter Kate. We also have 20 injured warriors. It's the Silver rouges. They brought Jackson" he says grimly. Athan and Kathe give a curt nod before running to me. The break the protective circle and embrace me. "We love you, and don't you dare leave this house. Let them protect you okay? And don't forget that we love you more than anything little mate okay?" They tell me before turning to the military boys. "No matter what don't open these doors for anyone but us unless they're sent by us okay? Protect her no matter what......please" Kathe tells them before running out the door. After it shuts, I hear the painful cry of wolves in pain and heartbreak before they come to an abrupt stop. "What the hell was that?" they ask me. "Let's just say it's like a mini WWII okay?" I tell them. "It's a code Marie" I say signaling them. Cade and Justin reach under their pant legs and pull out pistols and daggers. Mason and Ace pull snipers out from the suitcases they brought for some reason. Don't ask. I walk over to a cabinet and open the secret compartment, pulling out a shotgun and big machete. I turn to them, "Be prepared for some weird shit." they nod and smile. "Like we haven't seen weird crap" Justin says. "With you by our side, we can beat the shit out of anything that some our way" Ace says smiling. "Okay, let's get to a secure part of the house. I know that there's a basement here". Ace shakes his head. "No, a basement would trap us giving us no escape". We all nod. "What about a hidden room, got any?" Mason asks. "Umm, there might be one is one of the boy's rooms" I say. "Then that's were we're going" they say, and we all nod in agreement".

We run down the brown carpeted hallway and take a sharp right, into Kathe's room. We hurry in and start searching. "Look for anything suspiciously placed objects" I say and they nod. I look around and try moving a couple of books.No luck. I move around and try to move anything weird. I move cups,boxes,trinkets,lamps and a lot more. Finally I spot a picture of Kathe, his mom, and his little siblings. I walk over and pick it up. Suddenly a clicking sound starts and the fireplace starts to drop down. After a minute it's gone and opened up another room entirely. It's a long, white hallway that looks like it goes on forever. I look at my boys and nod. We all start walking down the hallway. As soon as we're in, the wall closes behind us. We keep walking for at least 10 minutes before we reach a big metal door. I reach out and touch it but quickly recoil. It burned by hand. "Ah" I say in pain shaking my hand. "Alright Ava?" Justin asks. "Fine" I say returning my hand to my machete. "Please say password" a robotic voice says. "What's the password?" Cade asks. "I don't know" I say. "Well, let's try something obvious. Like um....his favorite color?". "Blue" I say. Nothing. "Okay, what about his mom's name?" Mason asks. "Alice" I say nothing. "This could take a while" I say and we all sit down.

"Zebra". Nothing. "Oh my god," I moan, "I DON'T FUCKING KNOW!!!! FUCKING MACARONI AND CHEESE!!!" I yell in frustration. Click. I stare at the door in shock. "Are you fucking kidding me Kathe!!!??? Fucking Macaroni and Cheese? I'm gonna kill you next time I see you." I say. They boys laugh before the robotic voice talks again. "Password accepted, door opened.". We stand up and walk in. As soon as we walk in, I'm blown away. "It's not even a room" Justin says. It's a pathway down a dark hallway that leads to a door with light coming out from the bottom. "Are you kidding me?" I say in shock. We groan and start on the path. After a few minutes we arrive. I pull open the door and we clamber in. When our eyes adjust to the light, we find ourselves in a pale, stripped room. It's just bare. "Welcome" a voice says. Out of the dark shadow comes a weird creature wrapped in a red silk robe. "I am Jefe" it says. "I am to escort you to the castle" it tells us. "What castle? Where are we?" I ask, pointing our weapons. It snaps it's fingers and our weapons disappear. "Please bring no weapons" it says. "We don't allow strangers to carry them here, In Ly" it says. "What the hell is Ly?" Cade asks. "You'll see" it says and beckons us to follow it with it's grey bony finger. It starts hobbling down a path and out a big arch. We hesitatingly follow and walk down the path. As soon as we exit the arch we are greeted by the beautiful view. We're high above ground on a clear quarts bridge and below is a big forest of huge Oaks,Willows,Maples and various others. Off in the distance there's a huge castle visible with a tall wall containing a busy town. I look up and it's like we're in a giant cave, like a miniature world. "It's beautiful" Justin says. We all nod and run to catch up to Jefe. "Where's the castle, is it the one we saw from the bridge?" Ace asks. "Indeed" the strange creature says. We reach the end of the path an board a small boat which we travel down a crystal clear river. I lean over the edge and see brightly colored fish and corral below. After about an hour we stop and tie the boat to a small dock, filled with fishing boats painted white, red and brown. We waddle off the boat and follow Jefe across the busy streets onto a big bridge which leads to a big archway. After we pass the arch, we are greeted by the huge castle. "Now that, is luxury living" Cade says. "You can say that again" Mason mumbles. We laugh before clambering down a set of cobble stairs. We walk for a while more before we reach huge white doors, which swing open. We follow Jefe into the castle and enter a big red room. It has huge tapestries hung on the wall depicting some kind of battle. It's got red carpeted floors with a big red rug with yellow tassels, a big staircase leading to the upper levels and various potted plants. "So why are we here?" Justin asks. "You will see" Jefe says. Footsteps are heard, rapidly approaching. Suddenly, a handsome man appears. He has white hair with tan skin and a very fit body. "Ah, the Depicted have arrived" he says and beckons up to follow him.

Hello!!! I know you all hate me and I'm so sorry. I truly mean it this time. I'm sorry. I had a lot of homework and late work to turn in, so that I could bring up my grades. I'm really sorry.
