Chapter 4 II: Knot

•Isana Yashiro, the 1st King, the Silver King•

"First of all, I did not hide anything from you all," I began. "It wasn't my intention to keep something secret as this from my friends."

"We may have an alliance but that doesn't mean we're friends," Fushimi said.

"Fushimi..." was Seri's reply, annoyed by his behavior.

He clicked his tongue again. I guess we can't all be friends, can we? I did not show my sadness as I held it in. Kuroh, my second, gripped his katana, sick of his rude attitude. I just turned back to him and smiled in reassurance.

"As I was saying, I did not hide anything. The Gold King himself kept it from everyone," I said as I turned towards them. "There're reasons to why he kept some things secret and never left his own tower. He had exactly three things to take care of. 1. Being the Gold King of his clan, 2. He is responsible to the control of the Dresden Slate and 3. The confinement of the sixth king, the Purple King, Eon and Ion."

It was a shock to all of us. The Gold King has kept the sixth king in confinement?

That is impossible because the sixth king is not purple but actually grey. After the Kagutsu Crater incident, the sixth king, the Grey King himself went into hiding.

Does this mean we have two sixth kings?

Wait......

Earlier today, they were two kids that look alike that came out from the Gold King's domain. Could it be them?

"Shiro," I wondered. "Are they perhaps twins with pure white hair, with some streaks of..."

I couldn't really describe the color as I was so far away. How could I have forgotten about them when it just happen earlier today.

"Purple?" Was Shiro's reply.

"Maybe,"

"Wait, when did you meet them," he questioned.

"It was before I came here. I must admit that I have forgotten about them when it had happened only recently."

"I think they were using one of their abilities," he answered. "Making their presence very weak until it seems to be unnoticeable."

"Wait," Izumo spoke up. "Twins? Is that possible?"

"Uhm...actually, no, but they have made the impossible, possible,"

"What do you mean?" Anna spoke up.

"Well Anna, everyone, as you all know that we kings are endowed by the slate with supernatural abilities to each head up our own clan in pursuit of our own ideals, right?" Shiro said, explaining. "One was imbued with golden 'prosperity', another with the green growth of 'transformation', another with the red 'violence' and also one of blue 'order'."

I simply nodded, knowing who he was referring to.

"Well just like us, the Purple Kings also have their own ideals. Before the Dresden Slate, we would have never imagine the advancement of humanity. Now, with the Slate, we humans that are sometimes born with an extra ability are called strains. One fact you should know is that, the first discovery of strains was Eon. She is the first strain to have ever walk the earth."
