Forgotten [Percy Jackson FanFic]

Prologue

Percy PoV

As I saw the fireball sail through the sky, he knew it was over. At last, the monster Gaea was dead. Laughing with victory, I continued to slay a fear-stricken horde of monsters who were shaking in their mail-boots. As I saw the fireball flying, I also saw Festus and Leo wrecking Gaea with all their firepower. This didn't concern me as I was sure Leo would back off any minute.

But as the fireball neared Gaea, Leo didn't show any sign of pulling over. A cold sweat broke through me. As I saw the fireball reach Gaea, I screamed," Don't do it !", but it was too late. Both Leo and Festus were caught in the explosion. He was gone.

My life went downhill from then. After the war, I looked forward to life with Annabeth. But every time I brought up Camp Jupiter's College Program, she put it off saying she was busy. As for the rest of the camp, I was treated like well, me, that was until that bloody Zeus Spawn Asher came into the camp.

Theoretically, he came during the war, but was actually conducted into Camp Half-Blood after the war. During the war, I didn't notice him, but Annabeth nursed him back to health after getting hit by a rock. A bloody rock. He later made a big fuss about that saying he was hit with a mighty blow from Gaea herself. Complete centaur-dung if you ask me. He was just like his father.[Normally, I would add an apology to prevent myself from becoming a lightning-hit pile of ashes, but I won't. I'll explain later.]

Anyway, as Camp Half-Blood approached spring break, I was walking through the forbidden woods, bored. As I reached Zeus's Fist, I thought I saw a face in the ground. As I ran to see what it was, it started molding itself into something... feminine. The only thought going through my head was," It can't be her. She died..... It can't be!" As I reached that grasping-at-straws moment, I thought it was one of the nature nymphs playing pranks. Boy, oh boy, I was so wrong.

As the earth molded into a recognizable face, I was paralyzed with fear and anger. It was her. After Leo's sacrifice, after the seven's hard-earned effort. It was Gaea. After seeing my face, she cackled off. "You really think you could stop me with a fancy explosion and a suicidal boy on a malfunctional dragon? I expected more from you, Perseus Jackson, much more!", she told me, all while cackling away. My anger rose. No one insulted Leo, and he would bear no one insulting his dragon. Gathering my strength, I took Riptide and charged at Gaea.

She didn't bother blocking. As Riptide touched her, it shattered. I was thrown back by the mini-explosion. Then I made impact with the ground. Hardcore-type impact. As I was lying down dazed, Gaea told me," My revenge has been made on the 7. Jason is heartbroken by the death of his beloved Piper due to a tragic 'accident', and so is Frank with Hazel dying in an avalanche. And you.... I don't have to do anything. Annabeth, sweet, sweet Annabeth is no longer yours, Jackson. Now let me finish you off, there is nothing left for you here."

Hearing this, my despair turned to rage. If Gaea thought she could mess with my life and get away with it, she was wrong. It was insane taking on a Protogenoi, especially in their own domain, but I did it. I reached inside myself and grabbed something out. It was something I myself didn't know existed. But it made me feel powerful and angry, with only one thing going on in my head. "Kill Gaea."

I don't exactly remember what happened afterwards. I sometimes see myself plunging my hand into her heart. What I do remember is that there was a golden light surrounding both of us. The expression on Gaia's face was one of pure fear. As I pulled out her heart, I was filled with power and.... pain. Lots of pain. I passed out, not remembering anything.

I woke up mumbling 'Annabeth'. Realizing I passed out, I ran towards camp. They must be worried.
