Regret

Promises

Alex looks at the waitress and smirks. I guess he's not gonna keep his promise.

*Flashyback*

"Hey Sammie" Alex says sitting next to me. I look down and fiddle with my fingers. "Hey" I was sitting on a bench by a tree in front of the school. "Your here early?" I say with a raised eyebrow. I'm always here early. I don't mean to be. I just walk too fast.

"I woke up early and I wanted a morning walk. I walked a little too fast though and I ended up here, next to you" Alex chuckled. "Indeed you have." I laughed and took a deep breath.

 "Hey Alex I've been meaning to ask you. How do you...how do you brea-I mean end your uh relationships so easily?" I said fumbling with my words.

Alex stiffens.

He sighs. "I just...do" He answers. I shake me head and look at him. "Don't you ever worry about them? About how they'll feel after? Since most of the girls claim they're in love with you?" I say getting a bit frustrated. Who breaks someone's heart like that? Just play with it and throw it away?

"I've never been in love so I don't care. I don't know how it feels. So I don't care" He says sharply. I take a deep breath. "Stop" I say quietly. Alex looks at me confused. "Stop breaking their hearts. Its not the best feeling in the world" Alex sighs. "Fine ill stop having one night stands and such." I smile. "Pinky promise?" Alex smiles and hooks his finger with mine. "Pinky promise"

*FlashyBacky Over*

 "Can I get the Bacon Burger with fries and a coke and she wants the same things but change the coke to a sprite." She nods. "Anything else you want?" She says hinting at the fact she wants his number. "Nope" He says smiling. She nods and gives me a quick glare before leaving. I smirk.

"Where are we going again?" I ask for the billionth time. Alex rolls his eyes. "Somewhere".

I sigh.

Alex and I decided to go the park. Well not exactly, he said he wanted to show me something and I had no choice but to agree.  We've been walking for a while now and I'm lazy. Alex throws his arm across my shoulders and I lean into him. I rest my head on his shoulder, close my eyes and let Alex lead me to where ever we're going.

Suddenly we stop. Alex shakes my shoulder a bit. "Sammie were here" he says his voice low. I open my eyes and see an clearing. It has a few flowers and the grass looks a healthy green. I smile and snuggle into Alex's side.

"This is amazing, how'd you find this?" He smiles. "I was walking one day and found it." Alex walks over to a tree, leaving me missing the warmth he provided, and grabs a blanket and a pillow out of a clear bag. He walks to the middle of the clearing and motions me over. I walk over to the blanket that he laid out and sit beside him.

We sit in a comfortable silence. I lay down on my side, close my eyes and think about whatever comes to mind.

"Sammie" Alex says breaking the silence. "Yeah?" I respond, my eyes still closed. "what did you think about me before we...became friends?". I chuckle "I thought you were a player"

"And..." Alex says. I feel the blanket shift a little so I guess he laid down too. "a prick" I say opening my eyes and smirking. Alex chuckles and grabs a flower. "and what do you think of me now?" he says pulling off one of the flower petals.

"I think that your friendly, kind, funny, but your still a prick. Overall a pretty cool guy" I say watching as he pulls off another one. He chuckles.

"What about me? What did you think of me?" I say reaching over and pulling off a petal. "I didn't know you at all. I didn't even know you were in my first period" He says smiling. "Then when I went to talk to you I thought you were really shy" I frown.
