"We need to talk, and you need to tell Jordan."
"Kinda wanted you to..."
"Bri, come here."
I walk over to Angel, knowing what she's going to say in the back of my mind.
"Have you still been taking you antidepressants?"
"Well... I stopped like two weeks ago..."
"Why? You know how you get when you don't take them!"
"I've been happy that's why! All this time, Jordan has been making me happier and I've been getting even more confident. When some girl walks by that is skinnier than me and prettier than me and just better then me, Jordan looks at me. He tells me that I will always be perfect in his eyes and that no one else matters. I figured I didn't need to take them anymore... And I still don't think I need them."
"Okay, well obviously you do. Maybe you can get a lower dose pill. Your at 20 mg now right? Maybe you only need 10. Go to the doctor. Now the bigger question. Your anxiety pills."
"I ran out last week," I mumble under my breath.
"What? LAST WEEK?"
"I'm sorry," I say, running back to Jordan.
"What's wrong baby? I'm sorry for what's happening. You don't have to tell me anything until you want to, okay?" Jordan tells me, comforting me as I cry.
Angel walks into the room and immediately looks to Jordan. "We need to talk," she says to him.
"What did you say to her? Why is she crying? I want her to tell me what's happening when she's ready, but is it me that's causing this?" I hear him say as they walk out of the room. I can't cry anymore, and begin to fall asleep, no dreams arising during this time.
~Jordan's POV~
"... is it me that's causing this?"
"It's not you. I need to ask you something, though. Did she ever tell you anything about taking pills?"
"No. She told me when we first me that she doesn't take pills because no one knew..."
"I knew. I know everything about her. She doesn't tell people anything because she doesn't want help. I made sure she took her pills. That's why this is happening, she hasn't taken her antidepressants for 2 weeks and she ran out of her anxiety pills a week ago. She stopped taking them because of how happy she is around you, and I can see that in her, but when she is sleeping, those pills stop her from having dreams like she just did."
"What do I need to do? I want to help her so badly..."
"Tomorrow morning, take her to the doctor. Try to see if she will tell you about her dream, it will stop it from coming back. Other than that, it's up to the doctor to get her the pills and what not."
"Okay... I'll try..." I answer, in shock of this new information. Why didn't she tell me about this? She just told you, Bri doesn't like getting help from others. True, but my Bri?
I walk back into the bedroom and see Bri fast asleep on the bed. It's around 10 am, but I don't really want to wake her. She looks so peaceful...
"GOT YA!" She screams, sitting up and hugging me.
"Jeez Bri, you about gave me a heart attack!" I say back, playfully pushing her.
"Catch me if you can!" She says as a child would say. She seems so cheerful, like what just happened didn't actually happen.
She runs out into the living room and jumps onto the couch, me close behind her. "Where did the sudden energy come from Bri?"
"I dunno!" She yells in reply.
"Hmmm... Well how am I gonna get you down from there? Oh, I know!" I say.
"Jordan, don't you dare." She says in a more serious tone.
I reach out and begin tickling her sides. Instantly, she began to laugh and fall down onto the couch, where I tickle her even more.
"Jordan—please—stop" she says in between laughter.
Angel and Adam come out of the guest room. Immediately, Angel began giving me the death stare. I stopped tickling Bri, looked away, and immediately walked to my office.
~Bri's POV~
A look of confusion spreads across my face when Jordan got up and walked to his office. He looked really sad, as if he had done something wrong. I stand up and begin to walk towards his office door, but am soon stopped by Adam holding me back by the waist. "Adam, what hell? Let me go check on Jordan." I say. I usually don't swear, but if he thought I was just gonna let him stop me without me saying anything, he had another thing coming. I push him back and start walking forward again when, once again, Adam grabs my waist and stops me. "Adam. Seriously. Let go." I say, anger clear in my voice. "I have to make sure he is okay. " I say, pushing him back more forcefully. He goes to try to stop me again, but this time Angel stops him. I turn and walk towards his office and knock gently on the door three times. "Jordan, baby, what's wrong?" I ask through the door. I try to open the door, but it's locked. "Jordan, please let me in." I hear the door unlock and the sounds of Jordan softly sobbing on the other side. My heart instantly sinks, and I almost instantly open the door and run into his arms. "Jordan, please don't cry. Please tell me what's wrong. Did I do something?" I say, tears beginning to fall down my face.
