The next day (Friday), I decided to come to school. Cody was looking around, moping by his locker. His eyes met mine and his face brightened up. He smiled, and walked over to me.

"I'm glad you came." he hugged me, and I hugged him back. I stuck by him throughout the whole school day, and he didn't mind. I didn't tell anyone about my cancer until 5th period.

I was sitting in my desk, just taking notes like everyone else, when I felt nauseous. My bones had shocks of pain going up through them, and my whole body had chills. I looked at my hands, and they had rashes and red spots on them. I didn't know what was going on. I felt my forehead, and that's when I knew it. Fever, chills, pain in bones, rashes/red spots on the skin. It was the effects of leukemia. I collapsed to the floor and grabbed my wrist. My wrist joint hurt so bad! It honestly felt like someone was taking a hammer and shattering it!

"Ms. Huffton, please take your seat. This is no time to fool around." The teacher said. I looked up at her in serious pain, and the stern look on her face quickly vanished, "Uh, do you need to go to the nurse?" she quickly asked. I nodded, and she gave me a hall pass. I rushed to the nurse, and who said I needed to go to the hospital. I was in so much pain that I didn't argue with her.

Once I got to the hospital, they gave me a ton of pain killers and I was OUT! I woke up about 4 and a half hours later, and I sat up and checked my phone.

27 Missed calls from: Cody <3

43 Unread texts from: Cody <3

Jeez Cody!! Miss me much?! And yes, I did add a heart in his contact name because I'm amazing like that, and I also love him. <3

I was going to text back, but there were so many tubes and wires going from here on my body to 5 other places on my body, that I couldn't even move my hands if I tried. Plus, I was way too tired. I went back to sleep and hoped this was all just a terrible nightmare, and that I would wake up and not have cancer.

Ahh that sounded so... realistic and amazing!

But that's too bad, because

It

Wasn't

True. :(
