Chapter 18

Kellin

"Katelynne honey, did you pick up Copeland?" I asked her. For the past couple of years since Marisols incident, me and Katelynne's family has still been amazing. We, Copeland has gotten so big. I am proud of my babygirl. And of course my other girl, Marisol. Even though they both aren't young anymore, there were still my only girls.

"Yeah I'll go pick her up. I missed my baby!" Katelynne said running dramatically towards the doorway and I smiled. "Oh I need to go to the studio, working on an acoustic EP with the boys. So I might have to book a trip soon." I said. I wasn't for sure what I saw, but I was pretty sure I saw Katelynne rolled her eyes as she walked out. See, this was exactly what I hated. The band and I have taken almost a couple of years worth of break, off of tour and making albums. I don't see her working as the lead singer of a band. I am not giving it up. I love singing.

After she walked out, I called Marisol up. After all, she did decide to move in with him after all. Her boyfriend lived in the same state as us, thankfully. "Hello? Dad?" She said through the phone. "Hey Marisol, wanna hangout today at the studio with me?" I asked her. She excitedly said, "Um yeah? Is that even a question! I'll get ready" she said hanging up on me. I smiled and laughed out loud. So now I need to pick her up. I haven't seen her in a couple of weeks.

I had to get ready for the day so I decided to take a shower. I washed my body up like any other person would and got out. I saw a pair of my clothes I left on the bed in my bedroom. I grabbed it and made sure my bedroom door was shut before I started to change. I also closed my curtains because I always feel as if I'm being watched.. Eh

I finshed and just as I opened the door, Katelynne came rushing in with Copeland. "There's dad!" She said and Copeland screamed "Daddy!" She knocked me over and I held onto her for dear life. "Copeland! I missed you sweetie" I said hugging her. She did her most adorable giggle. It's been 2 weeks because her grandma hogged her from us. ;)

Me and Katelynne had our time to go on our sweet vacation which I'm thankful for because we needed a break for a while but during the second week, we missed our kids so much we came back. I put Copeland down and looked ahead to find my boys with three backpacks. I smiled and reached out for a hug and they hugged me back. "Hey Liam and Rowen. How was it?" and they stood there for a while and then said, "Boring! But at least your brother taught us to play soccer and baseball." Rowan said rolling his eyes with relief. I laughed and Katelynne gently and playfully hit Rowan who said that and we all giggled. "Oh stop it! I'm sure your grandma isn't that boring. So, Hudson taught you guys to play soccer, right? How was that? Learn any tricks?" I said and Liam began smiling wildly. "Well, Liam dominated us and made that boring too" Rowan said opening the cookie jar. We all laughed again.

"Well kids, I was just leaving but I will be back. I am also picking up your sister and your daughter" I said and Katelynne rolled her eyes. Liam and Rowen smiled. "How about you boys go play on your Xbox. I'm sure it missed you very much" I jokingly said and they nodded and left the room. "Umm. Katelynne?" I asked. "What?" she harshly said. Woah. "What's this all about?" I asked her.

"Well I just hate how you have to see her or just fucking baby her Kellin" she said. "Holy hell Kate— I barely see her, she's my daughter Katelynne. What am I suppose to do? Disown her like I did back in 2013?" I wouldn't have left her in that orphanage to rot to death with them other mean people!" I said kinda loud but not completely yelling. "Oh so now you want to argue? Okay then. Why don't you ever put this family first and not some non-blood related or some psycho first!" she clearly yelled. My eyes widened. I can't believe she said that. I turned to look in the hallway and Copeland and the other two were looking at us. I could see the sadness in their eyes, it was something they shouldn't have heard nor Katelynne should have said.

"Guys, dont worry about it. Just go back and play. Go watch a movie Copeland. I bought a lot of movies for you princess. Liam, Rowan, everything is fine. I promise. I will be back in an hour or so. Love you" I said and walked past Katelynne and out the door, passing the kitchen.

On my way out, I saw a girl with a hoodle pulled up and walking down the line of my part of the sidewalk. I felt almost afraid she heard. I really hoped Katelynne wasn't louder than loud. Was she eavesdropping on me? Stalking me?

"Hello?" I called out for her. She turned around and it appeared to be Marisol. "Oh god Marisol? Did you hear-" I said but was cut off by her yelling, "—Yes I did! Just great to hear what Katelynne had to say! Splendid. Screw it, just go to the studio Kellin, count me out." she said. I clearly understood she was having some type of breakdown and I already know Katelynne said it all out of anger. I'm sure she didn't mean any of it.

"Marisol, c'mon. Just forget Katelynne. She has just been feeling down lately. That's the only motherly figure you have. She's raised you since you were a girl. Are you really going to hate her?" I said following Marisol and she shook her head. "Wouldn't be the first time then" was all she said as she got into her car and left the our property. Great. I angrily got in my car and went to the studio. The boys had already planned to meet me here so, with me heading there now, it completed the band. We all had to go to the studio to get some work done. It's been a long time.

After attempting to surprise the family, I overheard many things I wished I hadn't. I don't want to believe that those were Katelynne's true colored words. I slammed the door shut as I entered the house. Josh walked out of the bathroom with a toothbrush in his mouth and is now in the living room. "Whasss wrog?" he asked with a mouthful of toothpaste and white smeared toothpaste around his lips. "Katelynne doesnt accept me in her family anymore so I might just start backing off" I said. Josh looked upset but sat down next to me and placed his hand on my knee and assured me that everything was fine. I took a deep breath and leaned in for a kiss but he pulled away. I backed up. "Wat, i hahh to finshh wahing mah mouhh" he said and smiled widely as his funniness and squinted at him gargling his spit.

Me and Josh hasn't had sex at all since this relationship has started. I am not even planning on it, because deep down, I wasn't ready. We are just a really good duo that can have fun without being sexual partners. We have that type of love. We have been so many All Time Low tours to have gained friendships with them. Jack Barakat has provided us free backstage passes plenty of times and even offered us jobs. He's become a good friend that we are able to casually drink with every now and then. I'm pretty sure you have heard of him.

Josh came back from the bathroom and kissed me. I kissed back and he held my waist and my hands were on his neck. We pulled away before anything could get farther. "Wow, never kissed like that for a while " he said. He got back home three days ago from a tour, he performs in a local band but they are rising pretty quickly. Glad he's home.
