Jason

A half an hour later, the group met in the kitchen, along with a depressed Coach Hedge, decked out in all of their war gear. The mood was tense. They turned the water on and stepped back as Nico took the lead.

“Here we go." Jason thought.

Nico threw the drachma in and said," O Goddess you are being commanded by Nico De Angelo the son of Hades. Show me Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase in Tartarus. "

The mist shimmered and turned black. They were looking into a rocky chasm that radiated death stronger than Nico did. The rocks were bloodstained from a recent battle, and there were pools of mud scattered across the floor. Then Jason saw them.

Huddled near a wall of the chasm was Annabeth huddled over beat up form. It was a seventeen year old boy with long black hair covered in spider webs and matted with dust and blood. His leg was twisted at a gut wrenching angle and he had an arrow wound in his side.

Percy. He thought.

What was worse was that Percy was deathly pale and unmoving.

No, he thought fearing for the worse.

Nico found his voice first. “Annabeth." He said.

She lifted her head and looked at them. Her expression confirmed what he had feared.

Her face was tearstained and covered in dirt and monster dust. She also had spider webs still in her hair and her clothes were wet and torn. But her eyes were the worst. They were red and puffy; she had a broken, hopeless look in them. Something had shattered and crumbled in her and Jason doubted that it could EVER be fixed.

"What happened?" Nico continued his voice cracking.

"We were attacked," she said hollowly. "He insisted on fighting for me, despite his major injuries, he was determined not to let me get hurt. Then one of the telekhines played dirty and struck him in his wounds. I think that he might have asked his dad for help. He used his powers... "

"What?!?" Jason screamed. He knew how dangerous that would have been.

Leo stuttered," What, you mean that-, is he-?"

"Yes,” she replied with an empty voice. “Percy Jackson, Son of Poseidon, is dead.”

*evil laugh* weren't expecting that were you? but keep reading it gets better I promise
