Leo XXXIV

Leo was dead, and he knew it. He remembered everything about his last moments, yet he regretted nothing. well, I always was the seventh wheel he thought. he was currently waiting in Charon's waiting room in New York for the next ferry ride. Being surrounded by other dead people was unnerving, but Leo figured that he ought to get used to it fast.

I hope I get Elysium he thought. I heard its the party place of hell, and Beckendorf's down there, I finally get to meet the most famous Hephaestus son!

"leave it to you to make dying something to look forward to." a familiar voice said. Leo looked up and searched the transparent faces of the dead until he found what he was looking for. There, in the center of the crowd stood a thirteen year old, with torn black clothes, pale complexion, and a messy mop of black hair on his head.

"Nico!" Leo called relieved. he got up from his seat and tried to make his way over to his friend. Leo still had trouble walking as an apparition. It was like walking, but not feeling your feet on the ground, it wasn't easy to trip, but he finally made it over to the Son of Hades.

"I thought you would have been the first ferried over." Leo said confused. "I mean your basically royalty right? so couldn't you, I don't know, pull some stings and make this line go a little faster!!!" Nico rolled his eyes and just gestured for Leo to follow him. they made their way over to the front of the line where Charon was asking for change to board.

when he saw Nico, he bowed his head out of respect, but completely ignored Leo. "Hey not cool man." he said indignantly.

Nico nudged him, or at least tried to and began talking, "Charon, i would like passage to-"

"No." he interrupted.

"Excuse me?" Nico replied taken aback.

"Your not aloud on, young demigods, your time has not yet come."

"Look man," Leo said, "I don't know what in Zues' name you mean by that but i AM NOT waiting in a chair for a century. do you know how hard that is for a guy with A.D.H.D? Yeah i didn't think so." Nico apparently had an ability to make part of himself solid because when he smacked me upside the head, it actually hurt.

"shut up!" he growled, "Your making it worse." I wisely shut my mouth after that, and let the scary child of death do the talking.

"Charon, what do you mean?" Nico continued, his words clipped.

"Someone has talked to your father, you are free to go."

Nico looked confused, "Talked to my father? what do you-" his eyes grew as wide as saucers.

Uh oh

"Charon, you don't mean?" the servant nodded, and Nico stood stunned. Finally after an awkward three second silence, Leo couldn't keep quite anymore,

"What's wrong? he just said we were free to go!" Leo exclaimed, confused. but Nico either didn't hear him or didn't care because he kept the conversation focused on Charon,

"Who was it?" Nico whispered. Leo was getting impatient,

"Who was who?"

"you know I cant tell you that." Charon replied, smiling evilly. Nico solidified his hands and grabbed the ferry guide by his Italian Suit collar, and pushed him against the wall. Leo shrunk back. normally the Son of Hades wasn't that scary, he was just depressing. But seeing his face now, Leo made a mental note never to get on Nico's bad side.
