Mavis' POV:
I woke up early the next evening and turned to the other side of the room, stretching, Olivia must've still been in Griffin's room. I decided it was time to apologise to her, time I understood her, time she understood me.
I snuck downstairs and stared at the door for a few minutes and shook my head, "You didn't deserve this..." I murmured under my breath, "I know somebody killed you, so why isn't anyone looking for them!" I was getting more frustrated the more I looked at the scratched, bloody door, until I decided to walk into the room.Olivia sat up straight, she was in her own little world so much she didn't notice I had entered the room. I chose not to look at what Griffin had become, it seemed both me and my sister were incredibly close to him, and I didn't want to upset myself, not in front of Olivia, anyways.
She suddenly snapped back into reality and saw my smiling face, "Hi!" I said, trying to keep a happy face, but it was hard to see Olivia so heartbroken and I nearly broke down.
"Hello..." She almost whispered, "Erm..." I could tell she felt awkward around me, nervous in a way, probably because of our argument before we went to sleep, "H-hey, Mavis... I just wanted to say sorry. I was just stressed, I didn't mean to hurt you."
"I'm sorry, too. But there was also something else I wanted to say. It's about..." I stopped speaking for a couple of seconds to make sure I didn't break as I said it, "Griffin" I croaked, tears welling up in both of our eyes."B-but you forgive me, right?" Her chocolate brown eyes showed a mix of emotions and something I hadn't seen in her in a while; hope. I nodded gently and her whole body relaxed as her face lit up, "So... What did you want to say?" It was amazing to see her like she was before again, though I knew neither of us would properly heal from the tradedy of the last few days.
"Well, as you can clearly see, what happened to Griffin was no accident," I finally brought myself to look at my dead friend before I quickly tore my eyes off of him an faced Olivia, who was slowly but surely becoming more comfortable at last. "He was obviously m-"
"Murdered. I know what you're going to say next, and don't know if I want to do this." She glanced over at Griffin and closed her eyes, "But, he would want to find out." I nodded slowly and quickly moved on before I burst into the tears I was holding in so well.
"... And it had to be someone in the hotel, nobody can get past Dad's defences. We need to find who did it, they could get anyone next." I shuddered, the fact there was a traitor who was living a 'normal' life amongst us all scared me, it seemed to scare Olivia as well, but she agreed, for Griffin.
We embraced each other slowly and lovingly and left the room, crashing into Wayne on the way out, "What are you two doing up so early!?!" He hissed, "Okay, secrets over, what're you up to, kids?" I sighed, I didn't want to tell anyone about our plans, but Wayne could've been a big help, and I really trusted him.
"We, erm.... Well..."
"Spit it out, already!"
"We're looking for... A traitor ..."
"Traitor, eh?" He scoffed, "And why is this 'traitor' so bad that a pair of little girls would want to find 'em."
"They... They killed Griffin. Please, Way! Please will you help us?!?!" He look confused for a second but simply couldn't say no to two desperate girls, especially since we were his Godchildren!"Oh, girls, I didn't want you to find out this way!" He blurted out, Olivia and I glanced at each other, then immediately back at Wayne.
"W-Wayne..." Olivia whispered.
"Tell us, Way!" I screamed desperately, not expecting what was about to come...He hid his face in his huge hands, "Well girls... The traitor you speak of. Well, it's- it's..."
"WHO?!?!" I was getting impatient and was desperate to find out who killed my Uncle."Right. It's..."
