Rip Tides

"What is your problem?" Dani asked as she handed me the phone, annoyance dripping off her tongue. I sat down in the sand in disbelief to what just happened.

I closed my eyes trying to concentrate and choosing my next words very carefully

"Guys please when I say this don't scream don't even look over there to your right, but I just met Riley.. from Before You Exit."

"What on earth did he say?!" Dakota asked getting red in the face

"Uhhh he just gave me the ball back that is all."

" Mika Victoria Lane, I know when your lying what else did he say?"

"He commented on my eyes.. said they were beautiful.."

The girls gasped and said "OMG" for a couple a second then went into shock for a bit then Brenna finally spoke up," How.. do you even know it them.."

"In case you didn't notice I ran over and practically straddled Dani!"

"O yeah forgot about that minor detail." Brenna smiled

"When Riley was the one handing me the ball.. he invited us to go over there..."

"WHAT? O GOD MY HAIR NEEDS TO BE FIXED, I NEED TO ACTUALLY PUT ON MAKEUP,I NEED TO PULL MY HAIR BACK." Was what I heard for the next 5 mins until i was fed up.

"WOULD  YOU LOT SHUT UP. Now look I know this going to be hard, probably the hardest thing you have ever done, but please DO NOT jump on them scream in their faces or give them any reason to think that we are freaks.. because we are!" I smiled a bit at my last comment and the girls calmed down.

"Ok.. but hang..." Dani did a bit of a happy dance." Ok all of them are free accept for Thomas.. that I know of and Mika from what we hear I think by the end of the day some one might need some makeup for her neck in the morn!" She winked at me, and that resulted in a laugh from everybody I just rolled my eyes and begin to pack our things.

We begin our way over there, I was walking ahead of everyone except for Sammy he was right next to me. I could hear the girl squealing in the back about who was there favorite. Thank God none of them said Riley..

As we approached I saw Riley flash that perfect smile of his he waved to me and I waved back.

We set our stuff down next to theirs and the girls huddled behind me. I saw Sam rolling his eyes at us. Twat.

"Hey Mika! Are these your friends? said Riley looking at them," and this must be your baby brother I can tell you guys could pass as twins."

"Yes these are the bestest friends anyone can ask for! This is Dakota you can call her Kota, this is Danielle you can call her Dani and this is Brenna! And yes that is my twat of a little brother." I said looking at Riley and the rest of the guys. Besides I and Sammy the girls knew who they were. Thats probably why I wasnt about to hyperventilate

"Well this is my older brother Connor, my baby brother Toby and our friends Braiden and Thomas."

"Hey guys." I smiled. They waved back at all of us and we returned it.

Then Riley spoke up but was not the one to break the awkwardness." So I notice you guys aren't wet-"

'Thats what she said!" Toby and Dani yelled in unison. Riley flashed his brother a death glare but all of us continued laughing.

"Looks like the two youngest ones will be best friends." Dakota said elbowing Danielle. Dani blushed and if i wasn't mistaken so was Toby. I smiled if Toby did end up liking her I was happy for little Dani she deserves it after.. Well never mind.

"Well as I was saying," Riley sighed," Would you all like to go swimming?"

"Yeah, come on guys lets go!" I said turning around and facing the girls and Sammy smiles plastered on there faces.

Before I knew it Riley had picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. I was laughing uncontrollably until the icy cold water hit me. I let the water in case me for a second then I came back up. Riley was standing there looking satisfied with his job. I laughed and he laughed as well.

"Hey guys," said Braiden who of which had Brenna by the waist," lets go out farther, everyone is pretty good at swimming right?"

We all nodded and begin to walk out. Sammy on one side of me Riley on the other. Just ahead of me was Dani and Toby who were no doubt laughing at themselves. Eventually Sammy wandered over to Thomas they only one without a girl out his side because now Dakota and Connor were bumping shoulders.

"So are you here for the summer or what?" asked Riley

"Yes, my whole family lives here, but I'm send off to boarding school up in Wyoming."

"O thats sweet, I've heard its pretty up there."

"Yeah but its freezing, I miss the warm Orlando breeze and the beach."

"Yeah I know what you mean, you know who we are right? Before You Exit the band? Well because of it we are usually always away from home and I miss it a lot. Guess we have that in common right." He smiled at me and I blushed my cheeks flushing.

"Yeah but I literally found out who you were today in the care I've been in solitary confinement for 9 months!" He laughed as we were no longer able to walk only swim. Then I remembered something.

"Where's Sammy?" I said urgency in my voice.

"He was with-"

I heard someone yell my name and a 20 yards from where I was, was Sammy's limp body and Thomas trying desperately to hold himself and Sam above the water. I swam as quickly as I could over to there spot but I noticed the current changing.

A rip tide was forming.

I knew exactly what too do, and so did the girls. I already saw Brenna and Kota with Braiden Connor on the side of the current, but I had no sign of Riley or Toby or Dani.

I swam hard as Thomas was starting to give out. I finally latched onto my brother supporting him. I could feel my strength dwindle but this was my little brother nothing was going to stop me from getting to shore.

I looked at Thomas was exhausted and looked like he couldn't bare it much longer.

"SWIM TO THE SIDE NOW." I screamed.

We begin our slow swim to the side. It was the most painful exhausting thing I had done. Finally when I and Thomas got to the side of the sandbar that now Dani, Toby, Brenna, Braiden, Dakota and Connor were on.

"WHAT HAPPENED?" Kota screamed as I go to the bar.

I was only able to mutter a few words " His heart deficiency kicked in and then on top of that rip tide."

Before I passed out only remembering slightly hitting the water someone catching me then... complete darkness.
