How did I get so lucky?

My face had to have turned 20 different colors before going back to my natural state. She came in all happy and bubbly.

"Hi everybody! I'm Tess!" She went around shaking our hands then she got too me, she shook my hand squeezing it as hard as possible. Really bitch? Guess who has nothing better too then work out  in her time time at school up in the middle of nowhere. Me. She thought it would effect me but it didn't I squeezed back just as hard she got a surprise look on her face she quickly wiped it off.

She sat down cuddlig up next too Thomas. Thomas was looking at her as if she were of she were a piece of meat. I merly rolled my eyes as she begin talking about herself, O how I wished i could jump across the room right now and gave her what she deserved for all those years of torment.

*1.5 years ago*

"Well well isn't it little baby Mika! O how cute is that girls she's trying to fix her makeup! Poor thing to bad it won't happen hun nothing could help you."

All her girls were behind me coming into the bathroom one by one coming in almost surrounding me while I was looking through the mirror attempting to stay strong, stand my ground. Not let her know she is the reason I don't want to be her anymore. Not give her the satisfaction.

"Wh-a-at do you-u w-a-nn-t?"

"O DO YOU GIRLS HEAR THAT, the poor thing is afraid."

She got in my face and began the torment

"You'll never be good enough, never get the boy that you want, never be good enough, you shouln't have been born you are a waste on this planet."

I'm a really worthless, un-important, not good enough? I questioned as she spewed more insults in my face, by then the tears were already streaming down my face I pushed past her and her demons, running down the hall way out the main door of the building, not bothering to even go to the rest of my classes that day I just went home and I cried and cried eventually falling asleep to the sound of my soft sobs.

Now I know what you're wondering: Why doesn't Dakota go the kitchen and grab a knife.

Well the girls didn't go to school with me and Sammy was still in middle school at the time. I went to a private prep academy. I didn't show the girls or Sammy what she looked like because she would take satisfaction in the fact that I talked about her and showed her to my best friends.

I excused myself to the my room where I went and locked the door, I begin to actually do my hair because now it was dry. I curled it and not wanting it be in my face I put in a side braid and pulled it to the side of hair.

"COME ON MIKA WE ARE WALKING TO THE BEACH." I heard Connor yell. I walked out of my room and down the stairs standing next to Riley silently he was studying my face till I asked what he wanted.

"Nothing I just like your hair like that, make you look even more beautiful then usual.." He whispered causing me to blush then laugh a bit, resulting in an eyebrow raise from Toby.

I made a decision in my head that would ultimately dictate my summer.

I was not going to let her get inside my head, she wanted to play games then it was on, nobody is going to ruin this summer.

Our walk down to the beach was quite fun actually I and Dakota were acting the Energizer Bunny on caffine and were acting like the usual not jobs we are. I accidentally tripped but caught myself on Tess. It hadn't phased me until she said," Could you please watch where your going I would like you not touching my clothes." she said grimly I just decided to kill her with niceness,"Lighten up Tess," I said with a big smile,"have some fun!"

We were walking in one big group on the beach laughing shouting and even recalling moments from this mornings food fight. I looked over my shoulder too see Tess' hand on Riley's bicep, laughing and talking. It stung so badly. Not because she had her hand on him but because he didn't bother too even shake it off.

I thought to myself and thought about my decision I wasn't going to her do this, nope not on my watch.

"RILEY!" I said in the happiest voice possible I was about to tell her in the most obvious way these next two things, she didn't know who she was messing with anymore I wasn't the scared little girl I once was and Riley was mine.

I startled them both, and held at my hand out too him. He looked at me puzzled but took it. I ran ahead with him behind me asking what I was doing. When I got a considerable distance from the group but could still everyone I stopped him right in front me, he was still smiling but had a confused look on his face.

"This!" I said putting my lips on his, at first startling him then he moved in synch with me placing his hands on my hips pulling me closer and moving his hands around to my back pulling us impossibly close his breath smelled of mint toothpaste and flavored strawberry gum. He bit my upper lip asking for entrance and I gladly let him in his tongue exploring this inside of my mouth. My hands running through jet black his hands roaming around my back and hips.

I heard "OWWS" and "GET A ROOM" and "GET IT RILEY" and "AWWWSS"

Finally breaking apart laughing at what our crazies were saying, I look towards the group at the one person's reaction I wanted too see.

Tess' facial expression was one you would've paid to have seen! Her mouth was wide open letting all the flies in, her eyes were huge and she was paralyzed on spot.

I just smiled wide and hugged Riley, to my surprise he picked me up and twirled me around. He let me down and looked me right in the eye and said,"How on earth did I get so lucky!?" cupping my cheek and kissing me again throwing his head back and laughing enjoying the moments.
