Chapter Twenty One "Terrible Memory"

Waking up, I slowly crawl out of bed, my face was met with the floor.

"Hello floor, we meet again." I growled under my breath.

Opening my eyes, the light filling my sight, I looked around and laid my eyes upon a figure above me. Taking my hand in his, yesterdays occurrence seeping into my mind. I jerked my hand back.

"There was this girl, she was at the entrance of the maze." I told him looking at my hand.

Hearing him growl lowly I shivered with fear.

"What was she doing?" He said through clenched teeth.

Looking up towards him, I noticed his brown oily dyed hair was fading back to red. His roots growing in. Looking at his face, his porcelain skin looking more perfect than ever.

"She was wanting me to go into the maze. She kept pointing at me."

His face twisted into disgust and anger.

I wonder how old he is.

"How old are you?"

His face turned confused for a moment.

"You mean the age of when I was bitten or how old I am now?"

"Both" I whispered.

"I was twenty-seven when I was bitten. I stopped counting a while back but i was born in the 1700's. So I am around three hundred." He stated.

"How were you-"

"Maybe another time I will explain my past to you but right now I want to know what else the girl said."

I got up off the ground and stretched. "She didn't say anything, she mostly pointed but for some reason I couldn't take my eyes off of her." I dazed, frozen in my stretching position, arm behind my head.

Quickly shaking it off I headed toward the drawer, took out some grey boxers, black socks, sweats and a baggy long sleeve shirt. Heading toward the bathroom, I shut and locked the door. Stripping out of my pajamas that he probably changed me into, I put on the clothes I selected getting warm.

Walking out, I saw him looking me up and down a smirk plastered onto his face.

******FLASHBACK******

---------------------------THIRD PERSON OF KAT-----------------------------------------

Walking fast down the snowy covered sidewalk little Katlynn's tears slowly streaming down his face. His right red hand covered his right eye as a swollen bruise began forming turning purple.

"Where you going cry baby!"

Katlynn knew that voice anywhere. It was his tormentor since first grade. Turning around slowly he saw Kevin and his gang of friends walking towards him with a smirk on all of their faces. Kevin stood out because he used to be Katlynn's friend.

"You are such a weak fag you know that?" Crossing his arms, Kevin snickered. Ever since Katlynn hugged Kevin in his sleep, he stayed away from Katlynn and bullied him ever since.

"I-I'm not a fag." the little boy stuttered holding onto his fluffy jacket tighter. Looking down the boy hiccuped.

"Boys! Lets teach this F.A.G a lesson shall we?" The whole group nodded and walked toward him.

Gasping silently the boy turned and began to sprint off toward the woods.

Breathing heavily, passing trees and bushes in a blur. Snow building up in his shoes but nothing stopped the adrenaline he felt in his veins. If he stopped, he knew what would happen and he would regret it.

"You can't get away this time Fag!" shouted Kevin.

Katlynn quickly took a left and continued running. Snow hitting his face as he continued.

Please someone, help me

As if the world hated him, he slipped on ice and fell on his back. Groaning in pain he quickly tried to get up to run but was interrupted when someone grabbed a hold of his jacket and pulled him toward the person. Wrapping an arm around his neck

Looking up it was on of his friends, who looked like they were on something. Stubble on his chin and greasy blonde hair. He smelled of body odor and dirt.

"Well Well Well. We meet again. For a little guy you sure are fast." The boys breathing increased as he saw Kevin and the rest of the boys in front of him. The grip around his neck tightened.

"Stop. Please" Katlynn breathed.

He was punched into the gut. The little boy lost his breath beginning to cough.

"Shut the hell up." He was slapped across the face.

Tears streamed down the boys bruised face. This was never going to end.

He felt a cold metal on his neck and his eyes widened.

"Kevin. Please don't do this." Katlynn pleaded.

Kevin didn't listen , He only smirked at him. "Oh I am not finished yet. Boys hold him down, and pull his clothes off, I want him to remember who's boss around hear." All the boy saw in his brown eyes were snow, but it was covered in his own blood. Shivering, he realized his clothes were gone.

Pain.

That is all he felt.

I closed my eyes, sending that horrible memory into the back of my mind. Why did I have to remember that now? Why did Avery remind me of Kevin?

Dismissing what happened I walked toward the bed and laid down.

"You need a television in here or something. It is pretty boring."Getting a good look at the room. "It needs a paint job as well." Blowing my bangs out of my eyes looking at Avery. He only nodded. "We will talk about the maze later." he said before walking into the bathroom and closing the door.

I turned away from the door I looked at the wall, remembering that day, tears threatening to spill. Curling up into a ball I shook as I cried silently.
