“Okay dear, I’ll see you in a few weeks, now!” My mother cooed, walking down the driveway to the limo. I bobbed my head and waved to her, a smile plastered on my face. Her and my father is leaving today to go to who knows where, but will be returning in three weeks for the vacation with the Cole’s to the Malibu house. Oh joy.
“Bye, Mom!” My voice was cheery as I bid them farewell, still in my pajamas. I rubbed my hands over my arms, realizing the temperature and cursed myself on my outfit choice. Okay, so maybe booty-shorts and a tank top isn’t the best choice of pajamas in November, but whatever. Both of my parents got inside the vehicle and it drove off shortly afterwards, their destination being the airport. I stood out on the front sidewalk, staring off down the driveway for a few minutes, thinking. Though, my deep thoughts were interrupted by a wolf whistle from the front porch of a house from across the street.
I directed my attention to the porch of where the whistle sounded from. There stood a fully dressed Blane Cole, smirking away. “Looking hot, Indie!” He shot across the street. I rolled my eyes and stuck my middle finger up. He just cackled as I stomped back inside, obviously annoyed. Perfect way to start my day.
“What are your plans for today?” Gigi stopped me as I was beginning to walk up the stairs. I pondered a few thoughts in my mind for a moment before deciding.
“I think I’ll go to gym,” I decided, skipping past her. She nodded in approval as I jogged up the stairs and to my room. I turned the doorknob and immediately turned into my closet and to the back where my exercise and dance clothes awaited. I picked out a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, carrying them to where I kept my shoes. I looked over my selection of sneakers, picking up my nicest pair.
I slipped the clothes and shoes on effortlessly and moved into the bathroom. I picked up my brush and began pulling through my hair. I picked up a hairband from the counter and pushed it around my wrist. After fashioning my hair into a high ponytail, I picked up my keys from my bedside table and jogged out of my room and down the stairs. Gigi was waiting for me by the garage door, a water bottle in hand. I nodded a thank you whilst I tool the bottle from her hand and through the door. Unlocking the car, I opened the door.
The drive to the gym was short. I handed the valet man my keys when I slipped out of the car. I know what you’re thinking, this is way too fancy for a gym, but it’s actually a gym and spa all in one. It’s one of the best places in the country for relaxation and exercise. When I walked to the woman at the reception desk, I recognized her immediately.
“Hi, Ms. Linda,” I smiled, warmly.
“Indiana, dear, how are you?” She grinned as she took off her glasses. She sat back in her chair, an amused look in her eyes. “Somebody special in your life?”
“What? Oh, no of course not!” I laughed lightly at the thought. She just scoffed in return with a roll of the eyes, her elbows propped on the desk and her glasses hanging from her hand.
“Oh, don’t give me that bogus! You’re gorgeous, doll, there has to be somebody!” There was this certain twinkle in her eyes that I just couldn’t say no to. She looked young and happy, as if she was reminiscing on old times.
"Really, Ms. Linda, all I'm worried about right now is my grades, I don't have time for dating!” I giggled, leaning over the desk. Ms. Linda let out a dramatic, incontent sigh before snapping back to reality.
“You know what I say, honey? Go find the guy you want, don't wait for later,” Her voice full of confidence as she nodded her head, confirming it. She smiled slyly before putting her glasses back on. “So what are we doing today?”
