“Well don’t you look gorgeous,” My smirking best friend greeted me as I walked up. I rolled my eyes whilst plopping down next to her. At the moment, I was sporting a look of a messy bun, dark circles under my eyes, and a careless looking outfit. “Restless night?”
“You have no idea,” I groaned, burying my face into my palms. As I sat in this position, nearly falling asleep, I heard a few snickers walk past us. I figured they were laughing at me, so I didn’t give a hoot, but as soon as the ‘slut’ remark was made, my head shot up. A scowl formed on my face, yet I said not one thing. I know how angry Gabrielle would be if I stood up for her or pressed for more information: very.
“Aye, Indiana!” I turned my head to the direction of which the shout came from where Jonas stood, waving me over. I looked at Gabrielle, sympathetically. She sighed a sigh of defeat and waved her hand. With a grin, she received a side hug from me before I went, slinging my bag over my shoulder to where Jonas stood.
“Hey,” A warm smile appeared on my face as I greeted him. He nodded to me, slinging an arm over my shoulder.
“Watch what’s about to happen,” He whispered in to my ear, his head motioning towards Blane. Following his gaze, I saw Blane and Charlie Wren, having an intense conversation. As the minutes went on, Blane’s face became noticeably redder. The schoolyard grew quiet, all eyes on the two.
“Christ, Charlie, why don’t you just go back to your so called ‘girlfriend’ from a different school,” Blane snorted, drawing a couple ‘oohs’ from the crowd. Jonas leaned back onto the brick wall, his arm never leaving my shoulders. As I followed his actions, my eyes remained on the little show in front of us.
“Why don’t you go back to the bitch you and all four of your faggots bang, Indiana,” He retorted, a gleam in his eyes. And with that, Charlie had a fist collide with his cheek. He tumbled back, but remained standing. Meanwhile, I stood, my eyes wide with shock. Did everybody really think that? I mean, I know I’ve been hanging out with them, but can’t they see that I’m just an innocent little goody-two-shoes? I could’ve gone on, but my thoughts were interrupted by Blane’s voice.
“Got anything else to say, Charlie?” Blane remarked, his smirk visible on his features. Charlie looked evil and dark as he managed to pull himself towards Blane. He swung his fist, making it collide with Blane’s forehead. Blane was taken back, to say the least, but nonetheless he tackled Charlie to the ground.
Hoots and hollers were heard everywhere, the whole schoolyard running towards the fight, but all the others of Cinque stayed behind. Jordan, Tyler, and Vinny slowly shuffled to us, a smirk dancing upon all of their lips. “Kid’s gonna get his ass beat,” Jonas concluded. Every head nodded in agreement.
“That’s what I thought,” Blane spat, strutting out of the circle where the fight was. Everyone stepped aside, creating a pathway for his highness. With the pathway, it was visible to see that Blane had either knocked out Charlie or beaten him to the ground, as he was on the ground, barely moving.
“Not bad,” Vinny grinned, sending Blane a high five. A smirk appeared on Blane’s features before he nodded. I was still in shock, though, about the whole thing. It only became physical when the comment about me was said. Had I…caused the fight?
“You’re bleeding,” I pointed out, my eyes fixated on the cut on his forehead. He shrugged as a hand made it’s way up and wiped the blood off. I frowned in discontent. That’s not what I meant. I sighed, silencing my thoughts. “I’m going to head to class,” I pulled myself off of the wall, Jonas’ arm falling off. Quite frankly, I was annoyed, and I think they could sense that.
