I got home to find my mom passed out on the couch. That's normal for her. She usually is up all night cleaning the house since me and my little brother. Josh, are asleep and not bothering her. So she sleeps all day. I went in my room to get started on my homework. Out of habbit, I turned on the Tv. Breaking weather news came on right away. "What do you want Brent? Your predictions are always wrong anyway." I said to myself. I hated the weather man. His voice annoyed me. "If you look here, we have some storms coming into the area. But, again, this is just a watch. But be prepaired to seek shelter in an emergency and know were you going to go. I'm Brent Holmes, Fox 6 news." I shook my head "Screw you Brent" I said as I changed the channel to MTV2, and cracked the books.
In the middle of my True Life marathon, Brent popped up. "What the hell do you want now Brent?" I said, obviously annoyed. "Breaking weather update. The National Weather Service has issued a thunderstorm warning for Kenosha, Milwaukee, and Ozaukee county." I turned off my Tv. Thunderstorms are nothing new for Ozaukee county. I looked at the clock. It was 6. I started cleaning up in preperation for Chris to come over. I even made his favorite ultra spicy nachos. I don't know how that kid can eat that. I'd be on fire after one chip.
I took out some garbage and looked at the clock. It was now 6:30. "Wow, times going slow." I said. I looked up at the sky and saw that it was getting pretty dark. Not from it being night time, but from clouds. And I do have to admit, it looked pretty dark for a regular Ozaukee county thunderstorm. So I went inside and turned on the Tv. As much as I hated Brent, I really wanted to know what was going to happen. "The National Weather Service has issued a Thunderstorm warnign for Kenosha, Milwaukee, and Ozaukee county until 9 o'clock PM. A tornado watch has been issued for Ozaukee county, until 9 o'clock PM." That was all I needed to hear. I called Chris.
"Hello?" I heard Chris say on the other line. "Hey, It's Maddie. Um, I was watching True Life and Brent cut in..." "What was Gaylord going on MTV2?" Chris made up the nickname "Gaylord" for Brent about a year. "Well, We have a thunderstorm warnign and a tornado watch until 9. And I don't think you should come tonight. I just don't want anything to happen to you on the way here, or on the way home." I was really protective over Chris, because I knew if I ever lost him, I would be a wreak. "Don't worry, I'll be fine." He said with his high ego attitude. "Okay, whatever." I said and hung up. I didn't want to think so much into this that I would be panicing about it all night. So I just set the phone down, and went back to True Life.
