The Village

It was dark,and Amy covered herself in a shawl with a hood to hide her identity. She started to climb up the wall when Blaze came. Amy saw her and sighed.

"I'm sorry,Blaze. But I can't stay her and let my whole life be chosen for me."

Tails went down and grabbed a piece of fruit from the merchant Vector. He handed it to Sonic,who split it in two.

"Here you go,Tails. Breakfast is served."

While the two were feasting on fruit,Amy walked the village streets covered in her disguise. All of the merchants and villagers didn't know it was the princess,but she was a sight for Sonic's eyes. The moment he heard her say,

"No thank you."

He felt in a trance. He stared at her,and she didn't notice. Amy found a young Choa who was hungry.

"Oh,you must be starving."

Amy grabbed an apple from a nearby stand,but the merchant got very angry. Amy didn't pay for the apple.

"You're gonna pay for that,right?"

"Oh,no sir. I don't have any money."

"So you are a thief?"

"No sir! I'll just go to the King and-"

"You know what the punishment for stealing is?!"

The merchant took out a long butcher knife and started walking towards Amy. Sonic rushed in and pulled Amy out of the way. Sonic turned to the merchant.

"Thank you,good sir. I've been looking for her everywhere."

Amy looked at Sonic confused. She whispered,

"What are you doing?"

"Just play along."

The merchant looked back and forth between Sonic and Amy.

"You...know her?"

"Unfortunately,yes. She is my sister. She's a little crazy."

Amy was at first insulted,but soon realized that she needed to play along,like Sonic said.

"She said she knew the King."

"She thinks the fox is the King."

Tails acted all royal by standing up tall. He mouthed some proclamations,and Amy bowed down.

"Oh,wise King. How may I serve you?"

Sonic grabbed Amy by her shoulders and turned to the merchant.

"Well,best we get going. Thanks again."

Sonic started to leave with Amy,and no turned to talk to her.
"Now come,sis. It's time to see the doctor."

Amy turned to face Tails again.

"Well,hello,doctor."

"No...not that one."

The two ran on top of the buildings. Sonic took a long pole to jump across the rooftops.

"So,first time in the village,huh?"

Amy looked up at Sonic in shock,but also relief.

"Was it really that obvious?"

"Well,you do kinda stand out."

Noticing that he was blushing,Sonic changed the way he talked.

"I mean,you can't survive here on your own."

Amy used another pole to jump across the rooftop just like Sonic,but with more grace.

"I'm a quick learner."

Sonic showed Amy around a bit,and ended the little tour with his house. Amy seemed a little shocked of the size and how there was nothing in it but some beds. Sonic,reading her facial expressions,talked to her some.

"It's not much,I know. But it has a great view."

Sonic showed Amy the view of the palace. She suddenly felt really angry.

"Yeah,it's great."

"It must be great to live there."

"It bet they tell you what to do and when to do it and what clothes to wear."

"It's better than here. You have nothing here,no future ahead."

"They want you to be perfect,but you're not!"

"They think that people who have no money are bad because they do what they have to do to live!"

"And you feel..."

"Trapped."

The two looked at each other. There was a moment of no words,just looking at each other. Then the guards burst in. The two panicked and said at the same time,

"They came for me! They came for you?"

The guards rushed. Sonic turned to Amy.

"Do you trust me?"

"What?"

"I said do you trust me?"

"...yes?"

"Then jump!"

Sonic and Amy found themselves in a dark back alley. Before they could escape,guards came a captured Sonic. Amy yelled,

"Release him! By order of the princess!"

Amy took down her hood,to reveal herself. Sonic looked at her,confused.

"Princess?"

The guards bowed down.

"Your highness."

"I said to release him."

"Sorry,your highness. We have higher orders from Eggman. You will have to bring up the matter with him."

"I WILL!!!"

Amy walked away and the guards dragged Sonic to the palace. Sonic got thrown into the dungeon.
