Mood: I Walk The Line by Halsey

The Next Day

Harry hugged Eleanor tightly, knowing he wouldn't see her for a few weeks, maybe months. He was was going on the American leg of his tour and honestly, he didn't want to go. He was usually excited to be going to America, it was one of his favorite places to travel to, but he didn't want to leave Louis.

Louis stood against the door, wiping his eyes.

"Hey now, don't cry, princess." Harry whispers, pulling away from Eleanor and pulling his boyfriend into a tight hug.

"I'm gonna miss you." Louis sniffled and goddammit, he's been crying a lot lately.

"Me too. Don't worry. I'll be back before you know it." Harry knows the next few weeks are going to be painful. Harry and Louis have been papped last night, going out to dinner and Harry stopped to answer questions. It was a rather long night.

----

Louis kept his distance from Harry as they left the fancy restaurant, paparazzi crowding around them instantly.

Harry turned back and grabbed Louis by his jacket and tugged him to his Range Rover just as a man with a camera walked in front of them.

"Harry, who is this? Isn't he a fan?" Harry didn't hesitate before answering.

"He's a friend. He has a girlfriend. Can you please excuse us?"

They let them pass just as the paparazzi got different pictures of the two boys. Harry sighed when he got into the drivers side.

"As Ed Sheeran once said, 'friends don't kiss me like you do.'" Louis says, a smile pulling on his lips. Harry chuckled, rushing them home.

----

Louis sniffled into Harry's coat, kissing his clothed shoulder. He heard Harry sigh and he looked up to be met with spring green eyes.

"I love you, okay?" Harry whispers, kissing his temple softly. Louis hums before stepping on his toes, cursing himself mentally for being short, and connecting their lips in a languid kiss. He murmurs 'I love you too' against his lips and he could feel Harry smile. His hands trail his hands down his waist, keeping them on Louis' hips.

"Get a room." Eleanor scoffs but Louis could hear the hint of sarcasm in her voice. He giggles and pulls away, stepping on the balls of his feet. With one last kiss and a promise to call and FaceTime and text Harry left, leaving Louis to stare longingly at the retreating Range Rover.

Harry was settling into his private jet, getting ready for the 11 hour flight for California. He already ached for Louis and it hasn't even been over two hours.

He smiled when he got a text from him, but frowned when he read it.

Louis: So, Richard called a few minutes after you left and told me today was my first 'outing'

Harry: I'm sorry. If you and I weren't involved none of this would be happening.

Louis: Harry, don't worry okay? I love you and I don't care about having to go on a couple of 'dates' with Eleanor. We both know it doesn't mean anything.

Harry sighs reading the text. He felt absolutely horrible about this. When he was dating Brendon none of this happened. Mainly because Brendon never wanted to be in the spotlight. He would always make up excuses as to why he couldn't go out in public with him.

Harry thinks that maybe the reason for that was the fact that he was cheating on him. He shook away the thought and texted Louis back.

Harry: well can you at least wear the Adidas jumper I got you. Even if people don't care at least I'll know you're mine.

Louis: already planning on it xx

With that Harry turns off his phone, settling back and hoping to get a few hours of sleep.

Louis stood outside of Starbucks with Eleanor, holding her hand. They had both gotten a hot chocolate but neither of them were very hungry.

Richard had called in paparazzi to take pictures of the duo, to shoot down gay rumors about Harry.

"This is weird." Eleanor mumbles to Louis as she takes a sip of her hot chocolate.

"I know. But, I don't know, it feels normal. Besides the fact that there are fucking paparazzi taking pictures of us. And that we have to advertise Starbucks. You know I don't like Starbucks." Louis laughs and Eleanor joins in.

"I feel like a celebrity. It's crazy." She leans into Louis, running her hand up his arm. She's good at this, Louis thinks.

He could barely hold her hand; it just felt wrong to touch her in any romantic type of way. Louis shivered into his Adidas jumper, slipping his arm around Eleanor's waist. He threw out his hot chocolate without a second thought.

He hated Starbucks. Eleanor continued to drink hers as they walked aimlessly through the streets of Doncaster. They had to be out publicly for at least an hour so the paparazzi could take clear pictures of them

Louis grimaced at one of the paparazzi when they asked them to kiss. Eleanor shrugged and pulled Louis down to her level and gave him a chaste kiss on the corner of his mouth.

"Have you told Alice about all of this?" Louis asks as she pulls away. She shakes her head.

"I don't know what to say. Do I just tell her, 'hey I'm fake dating my best friend so he can secretly date his celebrity boyfriend without thinking any of them are gay?' Like wow, that sounded horrible." Eleanor shudders as they make their way back to their flat. Richard said he would would personally deliver their first check when they returned home.

He also spoke of some 'exciting news' as he put it. Louis and Eleanor walked the short distance back to their flat, unlocking the door and stepping inside, leaving the paparazzi outside.

It was just them for a few minutes until Richard knocked and Louis let him in. He made himself at home in the small flat, frowning at the boring décor and used furnishings. He pulled out two checks, setting them on the table with a smile.

"Here's your first paycheck."

"Yeah, yeah. What did you want to talk to us about?" Louis asks, rolling his eyes.

"Well, how would you feel about quitting your jobs?"
