"For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
It's pretty safe to say we've all experienced fear. The panic that clenches us, and sends us weeping into our friend's arms. It twists our insides, our heart, and squeezes out all hope. It has side affects. For those prone to recklessness, you'll push too far. Surf the wave that nearly drowns you. For those prone to depression, you'll be tempted to throw a toaster in your bathtub.
Fear is not what God has for us. It gives the Devil a strong hold on our hearts. The Holy Spirit doesn't place fear in our hearts, but rather hope, love, and power. We need to be prone to prayer. Prayer first. We need to stand with our brothers and sister in Christ. Scream at the top of our lungs we have hope, hope for a new day, hope for healing, until we loose our voice. We must never ever give into fear. Overthinking kills.
If you are fearful, cry out to God. Tell a friend. Get it out and think rationally.
