Chapter 2: The Book

As we left the hospital, we waited at the bus stop to take the bus home.

I took the key out my pocket and looked at it.

"So what will you do with the key?" Elijah asked.

"Im not so sure, I mean you guys don't believe this is real do you?"

"In my opinion it could be true" Elijah said

"Yeah, i mean I don't think she would lie about something like that" Allison said

"That may be true, but come on...all the stuff about saving the future. Thats just impossible"

"Yeah, I have to agree with Ari on this, the only person who can change the future is God himself" Keon said.

"Okay, so your not going see what she was talking about?" Elijah asked.

I had to think about this.

There is no way in this world...

I mean the stuff she said only happens in story books.

"Well, I guess I could give it a try. But I'm telling y'all it won't work"

"We will just have to see about that" Elijah said

"What you mean we.." Keon said

"Oh come on, who wants to wait till tomorrow when we could just go to her house with her" Elijah said.

"I don't know. My parents were already upset at the fact that I went to the hospital with her without asking" Allison said

"Yeah, and my mom will flip if I don't come straight home" Keon said

"Oh come on guys, its not like we're staying...we're just going to see if what granny said was true" Elijah said

"I don't know" Allison said

"Please..." Elijah begged and begged them, and the funny thing is he didn't even ask me if it was okay for them to come.

"Fine, but just this once" Keon said

"I guess" Allison said.

Elijah smiled, happy at the fact that they agreed to coming.

As we arrived at my house, my mom had came to greet us.

"will they be staying for dinner" She asked

"No, there just here to help me study"

"Oh okay, well have fun" she said as she went into the living room.

We had went upstairs and I went in my grandmother's room, grabbed the chest and went in my room.

"That chest looks old" Keon said.

"Yeah like...Back in the day old" Elijah said.

I grabbed the key from out my pocket and unlocked the chest.

I took a deep breath and opened it.

When I opened it a bright light had surrounded the room, then disappeared.

"Please tell me that did not just happen" Allison said

Everyone was in shock, that nobody spoke.

"This is...weird"

"Like you said Ari, stuff like this just isn't possible" Keon said

When we had looked inside, all we saw was a big old dusty book.

"What the heck is this" Elijah said loudly.

"Shh, I don't want my mom to see this"

I could feel the tension in the room.

Everyone was shocked and...

A voice: "Dont open the book"

"What" I whispered.

"Dont open the book" .....

"Lets open the book" Elijah said.

Before I could say anything, he took the book and opened it

"NO!" I yelled.

And before I knew it all of us was sucked into the book....
