Chapter 8: The Past

-Keon POV-

When we finally made it to a safe place.

We laid Ari on the ground.

"Okay...is anyone else as freaked out as I am" Elijah said.

Here he goes.

"I'm just saying because...stuff like that just doesn't happen. We-we could have died" he said.

"Well we're safe now"

"Bomani. You said your family lived there. And u also said that the village was a human village" Allison said.

She has a point.

Bomani isn't human.

I thought humans and supernaturals didn't get along well.

"Which means your wife was human. Doesn't it?" She asked.

He nodded his head.

"There were some supernaturals and humans who didn't mind being around eachother" he said.

"Wait. I thought u were an Egyptian warrior. Your not saying your a supernatural are you?" She asked.

Me and Elijah looked at him.

"...I am an Egyptian warrior. But I'm also a shape shifter" he said.

"Meaning you can change into anything you want to?"

He nodded his head.

"I didn't tell you guys because in the beginning I didn't trust you. I didn't want you to know everything about me. But I see I can trust you now. I only wish Kahoni wasn't like this" he said with his head down.

"The one who started the fire?" Elijah asked.

He nodded his head.

"A long time ago me and Kahoni were bestfriends" he started.

"We met while I was walking through his village on a mission. I was badly wounded. He was kind to let me stay at his place till I recovered. See, Kahoni was a human himself" he said.

"If that's true, how did he get like that. With magic that powerful?"

"Sorrow" he said.

Sorrow?

"Kahoni's family were killed by supernaturals. Everyone except his brother. His name was Alek" he said as he sat down.

"Alek was very brave. He would do anything for Kahoni, even if it meant dying. One day me, Kahoni and Alek went on a mission together..-" he said, but was cut off.

"But if there human, why would they have a mission?" Elijah asked.

"The mission was mines. Even though they were human, they were skilled in battle and fighting, so they came with me" he said.

Now its making sense.

"During the mission we were ambushed. Apparently it was a trap from the start. We were held captive in a cabin...they had explosives everywhere, and only two minutes to think of how to get out" he said.

"Did you?"

"I had used my magic to get us untied. But I couldn't do anything about the explosives. When we were running out, we heard a woman and child cry out for help. I was going to go back, but Alek stopped me and said he would go instead. Kahoni tried to stop him, but he told me to take care of him. He ran back...and the place exploded. We saw the woman and child floating to a nearby tree. It shocked me" he said as he paused.

"...I wondered how did he do that if he was a human. Me and Kahoni went to find him, but found nothing...the only thing we found was a crescent that belong to his parents. Kahoni was furious and sad that he lost the only family he had left. After that he despised humans and everyone else. I never saw him no more. By him coming back, I'm guessing he found someone and took there powers for his own and just made them stronger, that the only way a human can have magic like that" he finished.

"How did Alek get his powers?"

"I'm pretty sure Kahoni found out as well. Alek was adopted. He wasn't Kahoni's real brother. He was abandoned at age 5 and Kahoni's parents took him in. Of course he learned how to perfect his powers, but he never used them. He didn't want them to find out" he said.

"Why is that?" Allison asked.

"Kahoni already disliked supernaturals and people with magic. He witnessed a lot growing up. That's why Alek didn't want them to know. He thought Kahoni would hate him. But believe me Alek loved Kahoni as if he was he real little brother" he said.

So if he did find out where and who his brother really was, why is he back.

I looked at Ari.

*FlashBack*

When he looked at us, I noticed he looked at directly at Ari.

Then all of a sudden she blacked out.

*End*

When she looked at him, she completely blacked out.

Could he be after her?

And if so, why?

I noticed she started to open her eyes.

"Guys she's waking up...Ari"

-Arianna POV-

As I was trying to open my eyes, I heard Keon's voice.

"Ari...Ari" he said.

When I completely opened them, I tried to sit up.

"Be careful" he said as he helped me.

"What happened?"

"You blacked out when that guy looked at you" he said.

*FlashBack*

"Things change my friend. Speaking of change. I see you got humans with you" he said.

He looked at all of us...then he glared at me.

I don't know what happened but when he glared at me...I blacked out.

*End*

Now I remember.

When he looked at me, I felt so weak and drained.

"But your okay now right?" Allison asked.

I nodded as I tried to stand up.

"Okay. Well we have to keep moving if we're going to find the diamonds" Bomani said.

We nodded as we started walking.

While we were walking I stopped and grabbed my head...I heard a voice...

"Beware Kahoni. He wants you"

I was lost.

"Why does he want me?"

"beware Kahoni. He wants you"

.....

"Why. Why does he want me?"

"Hey. You okay" Keon said as he touched me.

Right when he touched me the voice was was gone.

"Hey Ari. You good?" He asked.

"Um yeah. I'm good, let's go"

We had continued walking and caught up with them.
