The Spy Ops

The desicion

Yesterday I made my decision...

"Luke, just the person I want to talk to."

"No"

"Please just hear me out." I said with desperation in my voice.

"Five minutes"

"Fine. Yesterday I decided that I will go and I want to go on the mission."

I could see the tears in Luke's eyes.

"We are the best team on the job and that is the main reason why we should go. The second reason is that this is my job, it is what I love and it is my life. I have to do this."

Luke looked at me intensely.

Waiting for more. But I didn't have more. So I left.

Now I must repeat all this to Eric. This is going to be even more difficult I thought.

After ten minutes Eric began to cry and then he draw me in for a hug. I love Eric. He was and still is always there for me. When we were little we used to be best friends and we did almost everything together.

I thought he would be the stubborn one and say that I must stay and work on admin and stuff. But he knew that wasn't me. I had to be out there. To save people and to use 'The Gun'. Eric used to call it that.

Now Eric was still holding me. 

"You have to watch out", he whispered beneath my curly blonde hair. 

"You have to be careful. Be good and enjoy it."

I couldn't believe he said all this and it is still like three weeks.

"Eric, it is still three weeks before I go."

"I know."

That's all he said then he kissed my cheek and walked out of his office. He never do this. He usually sends the visitor out of his office.

I was still standing there too shocked to even move.

"We have to go!" Luke screamed to me under the loud noises. We were in a junk yard where somebody was using a over sized generator.

"Wow, I swear I am going to be deaf after this expedition!" I screamed back.

We were running from point to point with our pistols in hand. There was a robbery taking place near...

"Bang, bang!"

"Riley, move it!"

I was still standing I'm the open then Luke pulled me on my arm behind a big so called dumpster. 

"Sorry I was just thinking."

"Stop thinking and shoot!"

Behind us was a guy dressed with a jean and a red hoodie. He shot towards us and then bang.

"One off three to go!" I called out.

"Ready?" Luke asked with a serious expression on his face.

"Lets do it."

Back in the office I was so tired. But no, Luke wanted to talk. I waited for this moment.

"I thought about what you said"he started.

Yes, I knew I said the right words.

"Well and you were right. I know how much you love this job and so do I. I guess I'm just scared, you know. When you were shot..that was a big shock for me. You're....you're dear to me and...and I thought I'd lost you." 

"Oh, Luke. You'll never loose me!"I said with the biggest surety. With Luke by my side I'm always safe.

"I'll go."he said, tears filling his eyes. Again.

"Only if you go."

"Of course I'm going Luke!"

"I love it when you scream with enthusiasm."

I laughed and began to blush.

I felt so good in my heart. I almost felt something for Luke. Almost.

Then I smiled to him and signed the letter in the envelope.

I approve.
