Lost Before it Could Begin

Chapter 2.

I walk down the porch steps and i see Ryan staring at me, i couldn't help but smile. I missed him soo much. "Well, well, little miss sunshine has a dark side" He says with a smirk on his face. If only he knew i wasn't the same girl ..i had changed....a lot. He knows a totally different girl; one who laughs at everything, who's bubbly, and loves life; Im just not her anymore. I forced a smile,"Little miss sunshine has changed her ways" I walk to the truck and throw my bag in the back. He got in putting his hand on the wheel. He starts the engine, and starts pulling out of the driveway. I can feel him starting at me, and all i could think was all the times we spent togther. To break the silence he turns the radio on and i hear my all time favorite song, it means soo much to me. Skyscraper by Demi Lavoto, it's more like my motto. It's my life. I begin to sing along to the song closig my eyes. He then grabs my hand saying,"I'm here for you if you need me" Like somehow he knew exactly how i felt. I open my eyes and take a glimps at him. His look was so sincere, i looked at him and he looks back smiling. I felt my heart begin to beat faster, I was happy being with him. I didn't notice before until i heard the truck stop.

We were by his house which was a few mins away from the board walk. He looked at me and told me to come in. He went inside, so i followed. I remember this place soo well, I then heard his mom in the kitchen "Ry i made some lunch if you're hungry." We walked in the kitchen and she was soo surprised to see me "Mom, you remember Autumn? She's back for the summer" She gave me a big smile. saying, "Welcome back sweetie. How are you liking it so far?" "I miss it here so much, although i haven't seen anything" I say teasingly to Ryan. She smiles, and tell us to go have fun. "Hold on Autumn, i'll be right out. I'm gonna go change" Ryan explained. I simply sat at the counter talking to Mrs.McCarthy while waiting. I was glad to see them doing so well, which made me wonder where Mr.McCarthy was. I heard Ryan come down the stairs. I looked at him, he looked soo sexy! He had a great tan, and his muscles were so nice. They weren't to big and they weren't too small. He saw me staring and smirked.

Great! i thought i probably looked like an idiot staring at him in front of his mother! I realized he had changed into some board shorts. and a really tight grey t-shirt that showed off his muscles. "We're leaving now mom, be back later" He called over his shoulder. "it was nice to see you Mrs.McCarthy" i called out. He looked at me and said,"I saw you checking me out in there" He smirked. I could feel the heat rushing to my cheeks, "and if i was?" i said smiling. We could always tease each other like that which made me miss him even more, It was so easy to be myself around him. He hit my butt saying "Tighten up" and he jogged off. I laughed and ran after him, jumping on his back. He knew me oh so well, and had already helped me get up there. I became self cautios and said, "I'm too heavy for you to carry" and jumped off. He laughed out loud and said,"PLEASE AUTUMN! You are not heavy, you only weigh about 122 pounds for petesake" I hit his arm hoping to hurt him, only i was the only one who ended up hurt. I looked at him glaring and he couldn't help but laugh at my disgruntled face "I'm sorry" he said and i still was a little upset but i couldn't hold a grudge. "Do you remember when we were little we got married under this tree" He stopped at the tree to give me a chance to remember. "Of course i do. You gave me a blue rasberry ring pop for my wedding ring" I smiled "Yea, that was your favorite" we both glared into each others eyes.

I thought, was this the moment he says he loves me? I felt my cheeks flame. And i automatically looked down playing with my hands. He pulled my chin up ,"I missed you" and he sofly kissed me on my forehead. I felt my whole body tingle like there was an eletric shock going through me. I smiled and crushed my self into his hard rock abs, and squeezed him as tight as i could. He grabbed my hand and interlace our finger together as we began to walk to the boardwalk. "You really missed a lot" He smiled and i could see the dimple in his left cheek. I always made fun of him for it because he only had one dimple. "Well, i guess you're just going to have to show me what i missed" I teased. He let go of my hand and started walking backwards, his grey eyes boring into mine. I couldn't help but stare back. I felt my face flush with heat, and he began to laugh. "I made you bluuushhh" he taunted and i nudged him. Although he hardly moved. And he just laughed, and then i started laughing. Being with him was just soo easy. He grabbed my hand again and we were walking on the boarwalk. He smiled and said, "This is where we would have spent most our summers. This is where all the teens hangout" I smirked at him and he chuckled. I looked at with my puppy-dog eyes and asked,"Can we get shaved ice Ryan-poo" He laughed,"I didn't think you would remember the nickname you gave me" I looked at him with a glare,"Don't underestimate me Ryan. After all, i do know your weakspots" i poked him in the ribs, he laughed and i smirked at him skipping up to the shaved ice stand. "bluerasberry and one cherry please" I said as i went into my bag to grap my wallet. I handed him the $2.50. "You're buying lunch" I looked at Ryan only to see that was smiling down at me showing that cute little dimple. I wanted soo bad for him to pull me close against his chest and kiss me. wait what? thats your friend Autumn, snap out of it. i giggled making him look at me questionly. "Shall we" I said before he could question me. I grabbed his hand and interlaced our fingers and i smiled at him. "Come on, get on the bumpercars with me" He said pleadingly. I laughed a little as he dragged me to the line. I dropped my shaved ice, "You're buying me another one" He laughed, "Here. you can have mine" I glared at him,"I hate cherry" He smirked, "I know" and he shuved a spoonful in my mouth. He laughed so hard at the way i looked at him, and i couldn't help but laugh too. "I'm going to get you back Ryani said in between laughs. "Is that a challenge" he asked as he waggled his eyebrows at me. "Damn right" i said. He smirked and i hit his chest and the sound was quite satisfying, all though i wasn't satisfied. We got into the bumper cars and i searched for him, as i saw him he met my glare with a smirk. I wanted soo badly to just hit him with this stupid cart already. I was soo excited that when the man put everything in gear i jolted a little bit not knowing he had started. I laughed but as soon as i was looking at the spot he was he had already disappeared and then i was bumped "Well, that's not much of a challenge if you just sit there now is it" He smirked as he bumped into my bumper car. I scurried off to bump him back but a little girl was right behind him, and i behind her. I didn't want to hit her so i circled around and hit him as hard as i could while i jolted back. "Catch me if you can" i teased as i turned back around. all i could hear was him chuckling. A few mins later the ride was over and we got off and started walking towards the basketball booth thingy. "I bet i can make a 3shots before you" he challended, I waggled my eyebrows "i accept this challenge" He paid for the game and i knew i wasn't going to win and apperently so did the guy running the booth, so he came up behind me saying, if you make 2 shots i'll let you climb in and make the last shot. I agreed with the deal i so luckily have been granted. Ryan looked at me smirking and i shot the ball. I missed he laughed at me. I shook it off. I made one shot while he had already made 2. I made my second shot and shot a wink at the guy. He nodded and as Ryan saw me climbing up he looked at the guy waiting for him to do something, i looked back and laughed and slam dunked and fell back. I looked at him and started to burst out laughinng and so did the owner. He shook his head and pulled me down. He grabbed my waist and i felt the heat rush to my cheeks. He gave the guy a few extra dollars for helping me cheat and we walked on the beach under the boardwalk and we stopped by a pole. He grabbed my waist pulling me close to his chest. I looked at him his eyes boring into mine. He brushed his lips slightly over mine and he kissed them softly. He pulled his face back from mine to make sure it was okay with me, and i nodded. He put his lips back to mine and i just followed his lead; and when i felt his tongue touch the tip of mine i opened my moutch a little wider, letting him deepen the kiss. I heard him moan into my mouth and i kissed him back harder. We both broke apart not backing away just leaning our head on one another breathing hard, and totally breathless. "So that's what i've been missing" i said after a while. He chuckled.

We went back to my house, and we watched tv upstairs in my room. I didn't want to watch anything romantic so i put on something i knew i could enjoy...Drive Angry. We botch layed there, my head laying on his chest. I could felt him chuckle as he was playing with my hair. I rolled over pulling myself up with my elbows staring into his grey eyes, he kissed my forhead, and i smiled. I didn't know what was going on in his mind so i don't really know if he actually liked me or just wanted to see what was there. I sighed at the thought and i knew we would have to talk about what happened eventually so i sat straight up,"What are we doing" i asked,he sighed, he knew what i was talking about but he tried to make a joke out of it,"Well i thought' we were watching the gore film you put on" I giggled. But then he was serious,"I don't know Autumn. he took a long pause, i looked at him confused "I haven't seen you in a long time and i missed you. I mean, when you left i knew i liked you but it was to late to do anything about it and beside we were young. Well, i wasn't. "i giggled "Yeaa because you being 13 made such a difference" i teased.

He chuckled. but was serious again, "I got by but when i heard you were coming home i got butterflies everytime i heard your name." I adored him, he was everything i wanted but i was so mad at life i didnt want him. I sighed, looking at him apologetically, " i really want to be with you, i just can't. I'm not looking for anything serious, i mean if we can take it slow, and see what happens then" i stopped talking because i saw a hint of a smile forming at the corner of his mouth. I smiled. "Really Autmumn? I won't hurt you i promise, and...." I kissed him softly before he could finish and he kissed me back. I could feel him grinnig. He put his arms around me, and i threw mine around his neck. "i Won't let you down cutie" I could cry soo badly right now, i never felt this way about anyone but him. good thing we were married i laughed to myself, and i could feel a tear forming at my eye. He looked at me and kissed the tear away before it could fall. " I like you Autumn" I giggled at his cheesyness,"I like you too, Ryan" I guess 'miss sunshine' was back', i haven't laughed or smiled in soo long, it felt good. I asked him if he wanted to stay for dinner,"I want our first date to be special, and tonight i promised mom i would help her with some things at home" "Okay, i'll see you tomorrow" He smiled showing that one little dimple i adored and said "Until then" I laughed and he kissed my hair and got up leaving out of my room. I got up and gave him a hug and he hugged me tight. He let go and kissed me sofly and said "night" I watched him leave and when he did i jumped on my bed sighing a happy sigh. I Looked at the clock, it was 5:49pm. I spent most of my day with him and had a great time. I smiled and went down stairs to have dinner with gramps and gramps.
