Lost Before it Could Begin

Chapter 3

Grams and Gramps were setting the table as i walked in. And i heard Gramps clear his throat, and he begin to laugh. I looked at him questionly. "how was your kiss" he asked. I gasped feeling the heat rush to my cheeks. I heard grams giggle "Leave her  alone Phil...So how was it" I laughed hysterically "What are you talking about" i said trying to sound confused, but  my face gave it away, then laughed. "Don't down play it bud, i saw the way that boy walked out of here" Gramps said. I giggled and twirled around like a little girl describing some magical place. " It was perfect. I missed Ryan, and home and both of you i poked them in their sides when i said that, I missed everything about this place"  I saw grams smile at me genuinely, and i couldn't help but smile back. " That a girl" Gramps said. "Soo, whats for dinner" i asked casually. "Well, i grilled some tilapia, and gramps is making mashed potatoes the way you like them and i have some broccolli steaming" I had a huge grin on my face, and i could tell grams was pleased. We all sat around the table and had casual talk, we shared some laughs, old stories, and some of everything. I haven't had a family in a long time, with mom always paying attention to John. I finished my dinner and was really tired. I excuse myself,"Going to go call Ryan?" Gramps asked jokingly. "Noo, i was going to go write" I said "I thought you didn't write anymore. Well that's what your mom told me anyway" grams said concerned. "Grams, i never stopped writing, i just don't do it infront of her anymore. I hide my feeling from both her and John. I am miserable there. I don't even like to be myself because i can't do that without being downed by her stupid husband" I explained. Grams quicly came over there and hugged me,"You can be yourself here sweetie, and we'll accept you" "I know you will Grams and thats why i love you both" I smiled. And continued up the stairs. I got in bed but didn't even feel like writing anymore i was so overwhelmed with happiness. I smiled looking at the cieling listening to Make it mine by jason mraz singing along.

Noo, I Don't Wanna breakk. Then the door opened and grams came in "Gramps and I are meeting up with the johnsons for breakfast at 9 and hanging out until 5 so if you happen to leave here's a house key incase you come back before we do."Okay grams, you two have fun. I'll probably stay home but then again it depends" I said smiling. And she left out of the room.

I smiled at the thought of being home, i pulled off my jeans and shirt. I Put my ipod in the hook-up speaker and let the songs play.  I layed there end eventually i doze off.
