After a week--a school week--of having Luke as her guide, Ray figured he was good enough to have as a backup for Michael or Calum. Basically one of the people she reaches out to when Ashton can't take her somewhere.

It helped that they had become friends over the week, so it'd be normal for them to have exchanged numbers anyhow.

"Ray!" Ashton's voice carries through the house and into Ray's room, formerly known as Ashton's room since he moved himself into his parent's room.

The brown girl sits up and pats the bed for her iPod, that's currently playing a song she wanted to turn anyway. She pauses the music and scoots towards the edge of her bed, knowing she should just get up and go to him, assuming he needs her to do something for him, but not wanting to get up until he asks her to. "Yeah?" she yells back, well, not really yells, but she's loud enough for him to hear her in their too spacious house.

"Come here, please!" Ashton shouts his request as if Ray's hard of hearing. She rolls her eyes and stands up, shortly stopping to make sure she doesn't bump into her doorway or her door, then makes her way downstairs.

His voice wasn't muffled by a closed door and echoed more than it would if he were in his room, so she figured he was still on the couch in their living room.

"Can you get a ride to the store and pick me up some cold medicine?" Ashton asks her as she walks up to the back of the couch. Ray smiles as she leans forward and rests her arms on whatever part of Ashton she lands on, which ends up being his chest.

"I told you to stop hanging out with Calum." She teases, patting his chest and slipping out of the grasp he tries to get on her elbows. He groans and grabs her wrist back just so he can shake it.

"You're so unhelpful, just call somebody and go get me some NyQuil." Ashton whines, coughing and letting go of her to cover his mouth. Ray makes a face at the sound and takes her phone out of her back pocket.

Calum had shown up, as he called it, a bit under the weather a couple of days ago. He claimed he had to show Ashton some video, like he couldn't have messaged him a link to it, and he wouldn't let some sneezing get in the way of that. Ray both smartly and naturally steered clear of them, considering she didn't enjoy being sick and they were being annoyingly rowdy in Ashton's bedroom, over something she couldn't see.

"Alright, find Luke's number." She holds her ancient Samsung out to him and raps her finger tips against the space where the upholstery is stretched taut and covers a hollow area underneath it.

Most people don't expect her to even have a phone. Ashton was actually the most confused when her parents surprised her with a phone at the age of fourteen. Calum and Michael didn't really see anything odd about it, since everyone needs a phone, whether or not they can see who they're calling.

It's not like you really need to be able to see, anyway. Ray knows where the answer button is and she knows where the end call button is, and since there's only six people who have her number, it's most likely one of the six calling--the six being her parents, Ashton, Calum, Michael and now Luke--so all she has to do is pick up.

Once Ashton finds his number, he hands the phone back to her so she can press the call button. She likes being able to do things herself, Ashton's learned.

Ray presses the phone to her ear and carefully wanders towards their dining table in the kitchen while she waits for the boy to pick up. She knows she could have called Calum but he would probably try to hit on her the whole ride there and back and she doesn't trust Michael to drive, and she kind of wants to be around Luke, since she had gotten used to being on his arm for a third of her day.
