I shot up out of bed, an exciting tingle down in my stomach. I was nervous. I had no idea why. Yet the tingle stayed reminding me something good was happening today. My eyes widened as I realized- I had a date with Tyler! Oh my god. What to wear? Where were we going? I realized I wasn't prepared (emotionally and physically) for this whatsoever. A bell dinged and I glanced at the clock. 7:00. I almost ran downstairs to open the door for Tate. He looked shocked, then steadied himself as he walked in my house.

"I'mreallysorryimnotreadyistillhavetotakeashowerandgetprestonup-" I said before he cut me off.

"It's fine, I'll go get Preston up." He said, lumbering up the stairs. I ran to my room, practically jumping in the shower. I couldn't afford to be late again.

I quickly dried my hair and put it in a messy bun before hurrying downstairs. Preston was swinging his feet while sitting on the bar stool, downing a glass of orange juice.  Tate gave me a piece of toast as I glanced at him strangely. I never ate breakfast except when I went to Betsy's, which was often. Other days I just didn't have the time.

Tate caught me starring and looked up. "What? You need to eat." He said.

I glanced at the clock, 7:30. "Tate! We're going to be late!" I wailed.

"Not today," he said, "Today I brought my baby," His baby? He nodded towards the front window and I looked at his car in awe. I did't think I'd ever be able to get a car. My parents sure as hell weren't going to pay for it and I couldn't get a job with Preston still needing my help,"Now eat your breakfast, school's only a mile a way," he demanded. Only a mile. I smiled.  I couldn't have said those words before. A mile was quite long for walking everyday.

As a matter of fact, I did enjoy the breakfast and we got in the car at a clean 7:45. The drive didn't take too long, but I didn't get to ask Tate any more questions. Then again, I wasn't sweaty and gross when I arrived in Art class that  morning.  Tally was shocked to find me there early, I usually arrived as the bell rung. She ran over to me, her eyes wide.

"What time did you leave this morning?" She asked.

 "7:45" I said coolly.

"How'd you get here so fast?"

"Tate drove me."

"Tate? Who's that? Do I need to remind you that you have a date tonight?"

My cheeks flushed, Tate and I, well, we weren't like that. I shook my head as the teacher began to call attendance. After she did, I hurried to take my seat next to Tyler. A smile on his face instantly appeared, giving me huge butterflies.

"Cant wait for our date tonight," He said, a twinkle in his eyes.

"Me neither," I said, returning the smile. And it was true, I felt like I had been waiting for that date since sixth grade!  He pushed a strand of hair behind my ear, and immediately the place where his hand was seemed to have left a mark, giving me tingles up and down my body. I blushed rapidly, trying to cover it with my portrait of him. He chuckled before returning back to his paper. He kept glancing at my face as I did the same, trying to get a good resemblance of his smile down on my paper. It wasn't working. I huffed, furrowing my eyebrows and drawing harsh, dark marks on my page. Tyler's laugh rang out through the room and I glanced up realizing he had been watching me.
