We pulled up to Henry's in Charley's beat up pick up truck. We had to park a block down, the other cars had already filled up the places by Henry's house. We could already hear the music pounding as adrenaline began to rush through our veins.
I hopped out of the trunk, along with Tally and a few others. The other people that had come with us were the same as our type, no matter who threw the party, we still went. Even if we never got invited.
Brianna, a Gothic looking girl who dyed her honey blond hair a flat, matte black, jumped out of the truck onto the asphalt below. Her crop top showed off her new belly button ring and skull tattoo. She loved getting into all sorts of trouble, causing her parents to completely take away her car. She now had to pay for her own.
Brianna was hooking up with Jake; I could tell by their flirty glances and "disappearances" together. I thought that was funny because they were complete opposites. Jake had high expectations for his future and Brianna, well, she didn't.
Yeah, Jake was smart. I guess he was pretty cute too, but i just never looked at him that way. Then there was Tony. Aw...Tony, Tony, Tony. What girl hadn't thought of him in that way? Unfortunately he was kind of like a jock. Super attractive until he opens his mouth. Of course, if you're ever looking for a good time, he would be the sandy blond haired, tall dude with the six pack, probably making a move on some poor, naive girl.
I guess he was quite the party animal. Then again we all were a little bit. Me the least, but still. If someone in my group told me to party, well, I guess I wouldn't have a choice.
The party was just getting started, but as we walked through the door, we already saw those who had been having a little too much fun. Personally, I never saw the appeal in getting totally wasted. I really didn't like getting drunk at all. Yet, here i was.
A girl named Faith (a popular girl who secretly liked to hang out with 'us') approached me and Tally, wrapping her arms around our necks.
"Ladies! I was wandering when you would arrive! What did ya bring for me?" She slurred her words as Charley held up a six pack, "AH! Charles, old pal, I can always count on you!" She squeaked her last few words into my left ear. Her high pitched squeals were much too loud for my liking.
I untangled myself from Faith's reach and stood over by Charley, who was chuckling softly. Old Charles wasn't very loud. In fact he really didn't like too talk much at all in most situations. But Charley was big. Like really big. He prided himself on his street fighting, not his school work. Yet even he became quite the party animal when you got a few drinks in him.
Charley put his arm over my shoulder and lead me across the room to his cousin, Tic-Tac. His real name was Benny, but one bad incident ( he kissed a girl and after she proceeded to yell, "Dude, you need a Tic-Tac!") can brand you for life. Well most likely just until the end of high school, which he didn't have much more of.
Tic-Tac was a senior and they got out about two weeks earlier than the rest of us. Most everyone in my group, though, were sophomores soon to be Juniors, except for Tony and Jake. They were both juniors soon to be seniors. And, of course, there was Tic-Tac's girlfriend since ninth grade, the girl who gave him his nick-name. Yep, Rosemary and Tic-Tac were made for each other. Both equally stubborn and equally cocky. Rosemary ran track and field and Tic-Tac played baseball, so naturally they were extremely competitive towards one another. They fought like a married couple. The kind of married couple that chucks beer bottles at the wall while their neighbors are constantly calling 911 over.
I may exaggerate a little, but the miss drama queen in our group was actually a boy. He was gay. His name was Owen. He was head of the drama department and most likely my favorite out of the group. Yes, Owen, Tally and I had a great time in drama club, before Tally got herself and I both kicked out for making fart noises every time Eliza, who played Maria in The Sound Of Music, sang. I hadn't taken part in it, but since I'm her best friend I had to raise my hand and state all the reasons why Mrs. Summers was totally too uptight about Tally just voicing her opinion on the performance. So much for the rewarding feeling you get for sticking up for your friends.
