"9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, WE'RE IN TEXAS!!!" Normani yells, the next morning. "What the hell?" Dinah asks grumpily from the bunk below us. "We just passed the border into Texas! Guys! Yay!" Ally yells. "Lauren, make them shut up." I whine, digging my face further into her neck. "Guys be quiet, Y/N's trying to sleep." Lauren says. She pulls the blanket over me and kisses my forehead. Camila makes a whipping sound. "I am not whipped!" Lauren whines. "Right." Dinah says sarcastically. "Fuck off." Lauren says to them. "Lolo, I'm thirsty." I say. "I'll get you some water." She says, hopping out of the bunk. I smirk at Dinah and Camila, while they laugh. A few minutes later Lauren comes back with a glass of water. "Thank you sweet cheeks." I say. "No problem, Monkey-Butt." She says. I roll my eyes and take a sip. "All done." I say, handing it back to Lauren. She looks at the cup, then back at me.

"Babe, you literally took one sip." She says. "And that sip was great, thank you." I say. She pinches the top of her nose, and shakes her head. "Whatever." She takes the glass and walks back into the kitchen. I hop out of my bunk, and follow her quietly. I see her pour the rest of the water down the sink, and I stand behind her. "Kids in 3rd world countries could really use that water." I tell her. She jumps, not knowing I was there. "Jesus you scared me!" She says with a hand on her heart. "That was the goal." I say, hugging her from behind. I cuddle my face into her shoulder, then look at her face intently. "What?" She asks me. "You're really pretty." I say. She smiles. "I don't even have any makeup on." She says. "I know. But you're still incredibly beautiful." I tell her. She blushes faintly, and turns her head so she can kiss me. In the middle of the kiss, someone walks into the room and clears their throat. Lauren ignores them, and turns so that she's fully facing me, and deepens the kiss.

"Guys!! Really?!" Normani's voice says. "Go away, Mani." Lauren says against my lips. "No! This is my Tour bus, too. Ya'll are nasty." We ignore her and keep kissing. Normani stays quiet. Soon another pair of footprints walks into the room. "Eww! Grody!" Dinah's voice says. I feel someone grab my shoulder, and I'm pulled away from Lauren. "Nooo!" I Whine. "Dinah!" Lauren says, frustrated. "Lauren! Don't make out with Y/N in front of the whole world!" Dinah mocks her. I stomp over to Lauren and wrap my arms around her standing to her side. She puts one arm around my shoulders. "I know baby. Welcome to my world." Lauren says. "Oh, you poor baby." Dinah says, rolling her eyes. "MY HOUSE!" Ally yells running into the room. "What?" Dinah asks. "We're going to my house first! We're gonna spend the night there! Y/N, you can meet my little cousins! They're so cute!" Ally rambles. Lauren shifts her feet, uncomfortably. "Lo? What's up?" I ask quietly. She shakes her head and smiles at me. "Nothing." She kisses my head. I give her a look that says, 'I don't believe you.'

"It's nothing; I promise." She says. I sigh, knowing I won't get it out of her right now. "Promise?" I ask. She nods. "So, Ally, how long 'till we get to tu casa?" Camila asks, walking in with a book in hand. "It'll probably only be like 45 minutes. I'll let you guys know when we're close." Ally says, skipping into the back room to watch a movie. Everyone goes off and does their own thing, while Lauren and I go to the bunk area. We climb into her bunk. "Wanna watch a movie?" She asks. "We could... or..." I look at her lips. She smiles, and leans in. She kisses me softly, then she puts her hand on my cheek, tilts her head, and deepens the kiss. She puts her other hand on my side. Slowly, she starts to lay back, and pulls me on top of her, never stopping the kiss. Just then, the curtain opens. "Hey guys, I- HOLY SHIT!" Dinah yells. She covers her eyes. "I'm so sorry! Uh... I'll just leave you two alone, then." She says closing the curtain. "Dinah, wait!" I yell after her. Lauren looks at me and pouts. I peck her lips, then call Dinah back.

"Did you need something?" i ask her. She shrugs. "I mean, i was kinda bored, but... I'd rather not join you two." She says. "Don't flatter yourself." Lauren says. I giggle. Dinah rolls her eyes. "What did you want to do?" I ask her, sitting up. "Nooo!" Lauren whines. She sits up too, and pulls me so that I'm sitting on her lap. Then digs her head in my neck. I roll my eyes. "I dunno. Maybe play a game or something." Dinah says. "Uuuggghhhh." Lauren groans, and scoots back to make room for Dinah, with me still on her lap. "You're warm, Munchkin." Lauren says, holding me tighter. I chuckle, and kiss the top of her head, then put an arm around her neck. Dinah hesitantly climbs in. "Promise you guys won't start making out while I'm here?" Dinah asks. "I'm not promising anything." Lauren says. I elbow her. "We promise." I say.

We ended up just talking for that last 30 minutes or so. "Guys! We're here!" Ally yells from the front of the bus, as I feel it slow down, and then stop completely. "'Kay!" Dinah says, as she hops out of the bunk. "Should I put on makeup or anything?" I ask Lauren. She shakes her head. "Absolutely not." She says. She takes a deep breath. "Let's go." She says. I furrow my eyebrows but go with her.

As we're walking up to the front door, I can see Lauren is tense and nervous. I reach over and grab her hand, but she instantly pulls it away. I stop, and look over at her, but she just continues walking. "What's wrong with her?" Dinah asks, seeing what just happened. I shrug. "I have no idea." I say, a little hurt. "Let's go, buddy." Dinah says, putting her arm around me and walking into the house. I see Ally hugging an older woman-her mom I presume- and all the girls saying hi to other members of her family. I see Ally's mom walk up to Lauren with Ally beside her. "Oh. I didn't know Lauren would be here as well." Ally's mom says with a hint of disdain in her voice. "She's one of my best friends, mom. And she's in the band." Ally says, giving her mom a look. "Yes, of course." Her mom turns to me."And she brought her... friend." She says, not trying to hide the disdain anymore. "Mom. Please don't." Ally begs. I walk up to them. "It's very nice to meet you, Mrs.Hernandez." I say, holding out my hand for her to shake.

She looks at my hand as if it's infected. "No, thank you." She says, and turns and walks into the kitchen. I turn to Ally with an eyebrow raised. "I'm sorry. She's... against... well, you know." Ally says. "She's homophobic?" I ask with a whisper. "Yes, Y/N. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it!" Lauren snaps. She stomps away and into what I assume is the bathroom. "I'm sorry." Ally says, putting a hand on my shoulder. Then she goes to talk to her mom in the kitchen. I sigh, sit down on the couch, and put my head in my hands. "Hey kiddo." Camila says happily, sitting next to me. "Not in the mood." I mumble. "Hey, what's wrong? Oh shit! Ally's mom!" She says in realization. I nod. "Lauren's stressed about it, and I feel like she's trying to hide it, which she shouldn't... I just don't know what to do, Camz." I say, looking at her with my glossed over eyes. Her face softens. "Sweetheart." She says sympathetically, and pulls me into a hug. I lay my head on her shoulder.

"Babe?" I hear Lauren's voice. I look up. "I'm sorry- I shouldn't have snapped at you. And I'm not ashamed of you. Not even a little bit. You're the most beautiful girl I've ever met in my life. It's just hard knowing that Ally's mom's opinion on me changed just because of my sexuality." She says, sitting next to me. "I love you." She says, grabbing my hand. "I love you too. I get it, this must be really hard." I say to her, sitting up out of Camila's embrace. She shrugs. "I was really upset. But... I have you and the girls and the Harmonizers. What else could I possibly ask for?" She says, pulling me into her and kissing the top of my head. "Is that a rhetorical question?" Camila asks. "Don't ruin the moment, Camz." Lauren says. "Right, sorry." Camila apologizes. I smile.
