"No, Allyson! That's my final answer." I hear Patricia (Ally's mom) yell from the Kitchen. "Mom, We're adults- They're Adults!" Ally shouts back. Dinah pauses the movie that we're watching, and the girls and I exchange looks. "I don't care! I am in charge of what happens in my house!" Patricia yells. "You're being so freaking unfair, and unreasonable!" Ally tell her mom. "First off, Allyson, watch your language! Second, I will not have two girls do inappropriate things under my roof!" Patricia says. All the girls look at Lauren and I. I sigh, and put my head in my hands, and I feel Lauren rub my back soothingly. "They wouldn't do that! Not here! Because they actually respect you and our family. While you just judge them because of their way of life!" Ally says. "Unbelievable. They've brain washed you! You think that kind of life style is okay? No! It's despicable! It's horrible! It's- it's disgusting!" Patricia yells. Ouch. "No, mom! It's not! It's love." Ally takes a deep breath to calm down.
"And for the record, they didn't brain wash me. They showed me that love is love, no matter what. Whether it's between a man and a woman, or not." Ally tells her mom. "The fact that you use that word to describe this nonsense makes me sick! These people are not good for you to be around!" Patricia says. "These people- My friends who have always been there when no one else was. Who comforted me when you and dad weren't there. Who are two amazing girls who are in love. Yes, mom, LOVE. They are the best people for me to be around." Ally states. A tear slips out of my eye hearing Ally defend me like that. "Why do you accept this, Allyson? Me and your father, we raised you better than this." Patricia says to her daughter. "I accept it, mother, because these are people I care about. More than anything." Ally says. "In the bible-" "I don't care what the bible says, mom!" Ally interrupts her, exasperated. "Allyson!" Her mom says shocked. "Mom, the bible also said to stone a woman who isn't a virgin on her wedding day. Do we do that? No. No, we don't. Because we have grown and accepted. Even if gays and lesbians did go to hell for that way of life, you wouldn't. It doesn't affect you, mom! So just let it be!" Ally practically screams. "Let them live their life, like they let you live yours." Ally says weakly.
Her mom stays silent. "Honestly mom, I don't care about you letting them stay in the same room anymore. I just wish that you'd have an open mind. Because right now, you're the only disgusting thing I see." She says.I hear footsteps and look up. "Ally?" Lauren says after she's quiet for a few seconds. "We're sorry. We can leave if you want-" I start, but Ally wraps her arms around Lauren and I. "No. You won't leave. I will always stand up for you guys. I love you guys, okay?" She says. "We love you too, Als." Lauren says. Ally pulls away and smiles at us. I hear someone clear their throat behind me. We turn around to see Ally's mom. She takes a deep breath. "I don't agree with this. Nor do I encourage it. But, Ally seems to trust you two. You may stay in the same room. But if I hear anything happened, You will be out." Patricia says sternly.
"Thank you, Mrs. Hernandez." Lauren tells her. She nods stiffly, and then goes upstairs.
Hey guys! It was super short, but I'm gonna do a really long one tomorrow.Hope you liked it!
