Chapter 2

It was almost 6 0’Clock and Willow was getting ready to drop me off at Jim’s Diner for my date with Matt. I was pretty excited.

“Willow, hurry the heck up!” I yelled as usual. She rushed down the stairs grabbing her favourite cherry lip gloss and my car keys.

We got in the car and she sped off down the road. She handed me her lip gloss. I gave her a questioning look.

“Trust me, it tastes the best!” She winked at me and continued down the road. I rolled my eyes but pulled down the mirror and applied some of the lip gloss smacking my lips together.

As we pulled up into the car park I saw him. He looked gorgeous. His hair blowing in the wind and his button up shirt, dark jeans and volleys made my heart flutter in my chest and my breathing sped up. What is up with that? My heart is now officially a traitor!

I jumped out and closed the door behind me. Will rolled the window down.

“Good luck." She winked as I wondered over to him. The walk to him felt suprisingly long but his eyes held me captivated. I reached him when he took in a quick breath.

“Oh my.... um... you look... stunning. I thought you looked good from the car but you look even better up close.” Matt said smiling a beautiful, genuine smile.

“Well, you don’t look half bad yourself.” I replied cheekily. He chuckled taking my hand and gently pulling me into the restaurant.

“I’m glad you agreed to come. I was really nervous.” He said quietly.

“I’m surprised you called. Not that I wasn’t glad to hear your voice.” I said a smile reaching my lips. I then realised what I said and blushed... majorly. Man, that was embarrassing! He laughed making me smile again.

We talked for ages. Stopping while we ordered. Turned out we had a lot in common. Both liked the same sort of music and food. He wanted to be a teacher when he was older. I wanted to be a paediatrician. When I told him that he just looked at me like I was crazy. Clearly he didn’t know what I was talking about.

“A doctor for children.” I said giggling. He seemed impressed. When our meals came he started on his steak and, like every other guy, left his salad so I ate my pasta and grabbed his plate and cleaned the salad off it. After finishing our meals we talked some more. He was so easy to get along with and there wasn’t one awkward silence the whole time.

“So, do you want me to drop you home?” He asked holding my hand as we exited Jim’s Diner.

“That would be great. Thanks.” I said as he grabbed his car keys unlocking his truck. He opened the door for me and helped me in. He got in his side and as he turned the car on I turned the radio  to my favourite station. Anew song that Will introduced me too was playing so I turned it up singing along. When it got to the chorus Matt joined in with the singing making me cry with laughter considering he could not sing! He obviously knew that but was just joking around. That made me laugh harder.

As he turned into my driveway I unbelted and thanked him. As I got out he got out too.

“I’ll walk you to the doorstep.” He said smiling again. As we reached the front door I got my keys out but he took my hand. He leaned in to me and started closing his eyes. I smiled weakly and closed my eyes too. Closer... closer... almost there... and-

“Oh my Gorilla! Sophia Rebecca Ackermann! I’ve been waiting for you.” Came the voice of my best friend from the doorway looking at Matt as if she was my mother. That disapproving look.

“And you are?” Willow asked strictly. I rolled my eyes at her.

“Will, you really have the WORST timing.” I said, kind of annoyed.

“That’s not the way I see it. Another 30 seconds and you would’ve had his tongue down your throat! I saved you!” I blushed and looked at Matt who was smirking.

“Well, see you round Bumblebee. I’ll give you a call and see if we can meet up again. Without you best friend slash mother interrupting us.” He said confidently looking at Willow. I blushed again as he reached foreword and kissed my cheek. My face was tingling and I had goose bumps running up and down my arms as he let go of my hand and walked to his car.

“Sometimes, I really hate you, Will.” I said joking... a little bit serious though.

“No you don’t. You love me!” she whispered into my ear spinning around, waltzing back into the house. I shook my head as I saw a figure coming out of the darkness by Matts’ car and I turned around my lips meeting someone else’s... his... Matts’.

“Bye Bumblebee.” He said turning around and leaving. I was frozen to the spot. He kissed me. HE KISSED ME!
