Banished... Kinda

It's funny how life works. One day you're living in an orphanage with fire powers and nothing to look forward to in life, next thing you know you're boiling in lava and not dying.

What, it's just me?

I didn't really feel any pain. Obviously it's cause I was blacked out. When I woke up, I was floating in the one quadrillion degree lava. I didn't feel a thing. A normal person would be dead.

I was half human. Is that why I lived? Maybe I lost all of my humanity. I decided to open my eyes and get up. I swam to the rocks and tried to climb up, but I couldn't.

There weren't enough rocks, and I'm not very good at rock climbing. I tried to call for my sisters and Daniel. They didn't come. How long was I blacked out. I just realized that it was night. The stars were out.

I started to float upward. When I say "upward" I mean I was literally floating up to the sky. I closed my eyes and tried to fall asleep. If this is how I was dying, so be it. After what I did, I deserve it.

Even with my eyes closed, I was blinded by a bright light. Soon enough, the light faded. I opened my eyes to see a room. It was completely white and there was nothing in the room except for a wooden chair and a door.

The door opened, and a man came in. I didn't see his face completely. He sat down and looked directly in my eyes. "Well, you did it. You saved Hawaii." Malden. What was he doing here? He's.....

"Am I dead?" I asked. I was too frightened to be mad. He chuckled. "Oh no, you're very much alive. You just lost all your humanity and can no longer walk the Earth."

He said that in such a simple tone. Like it was no big deal. "So, if I'm not dead, and you are dead, how are you here?" Malden sighed.

"It's complicated. I can visit these places. You're kinda banished here forever. You're immortal. You can never see your family again. Blah blah blah."

My eyes widened. "I'm immortal? I can never see anyone again? Banished? What?!"
"I know, I know it's a lot to take in but hey, your boyfriend can visit you."
"I don't want to see Gaston right now! I want to see my family!"

I collapsed on the floor and started to cry. Malden rubbed his head. "Gee, I haven't even showed you the rest of the planet yet."

"Planet?" I sniffed.
"Yes. Planet. Now shut up and follow me." I got up and followed him to the door. He pushed it open. A whole city was in front of me. It was amazing. Other people of the elements were going about their daily business.

"There are more people like you than you think." Malden said.
