Raven Haired Boy (10k Love Story)

Abandoned.

"Astrid?" Rick spoke up. Breaking off the comforting feeling.
I now faced my attention to Rick. Reality snapped back at me. "What do you want to do...?" Rick asked me.
"We don't have a lot of time" Glen panicked keeping watch by the door.
"You stay, or you come with us?" Rick calmly said.
I looked up at 10k. "We have a group we came here with..."
I couldn't just leave the group here at Woodbury, not when there is something off about This place. Not when they make people fight walkers for fun, the thought of it sent shivers up my spine.

"We'll come" 10k spoke up.
"Okay, meet us at the edge of the town by the bus in 15minutes, we still have to get Daryl" Rick replied before they readied their weapons and burst through the door.
Me and 10k ran to the other side of the street climbed the stairs and entered our room, i grab my backpack and throw it over my back and grab my weapons. We walked along the narrow hall swinging the doors open "Warren?" I call
"Doc?" 10k whispers. "They're not here" 10k speaks swallowing.
"The infirmary? To get Cassandra?" 10k nods and i follow him down the stairs.

Once again he opens the door, we run out onto no mans land, dodging the flying bullets.
We pass the governor, he is holding his eye, blood is running from his eye like a river.
He heads in our direction to the infirmary. We run into the infirmary "Hey kid! Give us a hand!" Doc waves 10k over to Cassandra. Addy gives me a smile and 10k and Doc help relocate Cassandra.

The governor walks in the door of the infirmary and looks at us clutching his eye.
Warren holds her gun to him and we escape, running to the edge of the town.
We see a school bus with a guy sitting on top of it with a gun, he points the gun towards us "We're with Rick and the others!" I shout to him he nods and we put Cassandra up the back of the bus, we all take a seat on the bus patiently waiting for the group to return.
10 minutes later Maggie and Glen jump on the bus, followed by Rick, Daryl and Merle. The driver turns the key of the bus, and the engine starts sending ripples of vibrations through my body.

I look out the window next to me staring at the dense forest silhouetted by tall trees and the dead beings that wonder in the soulless forest. In the background i can hear Murphy whinnying like a 2 year old about having the seat next to the window. I kneel over the seats behind me, Cassandra lies across the back seats unconscious, Doc sits next to her dabbing her head with an old rag. He frowns with concern and looks up when he feels me gazing over him.
"How is she?" I ask Him. "Well we better get her to this camp soon, lets say she doesn't look too good". I sit back in my seat and see 10k peering back at Cassandra. He must have herd what Doc said.

I decide to move up the bus Warren sits with Murphy babysitting him as per usual, Addy however is talking to Glen who sits in front of her along with Maggie. I gave her a faint tiered smile, and go to Rick who is sitting at the very front of the bus negotiating with Daryl and of course Merle who is ready to bite someone's head off. Rick stops talking and gives me a friendly smile "how long till we are at this camp?" I ask.
"Bout 20 minutes, thats all you have to say after about 3 years?" He speaks with his accent tempted to laugh.
I smile awkwardly not knowing what to say, what was there to say?
Oh yea your best friend threatened to kill me, so i left?
"we got a friend back there shes not doing too well..."
"We got Hershel from the farm at the prison,  remember he is a doctor well... A veterinarian but he's pretty handy"
"Yea"
As i turn my eyes meet with Daryl's eyes he nods and i briefly smile and go back up the bus to Doc.
"Its just about a 20 minute drive from here, they still have an old man Hershel who is there veterinarian but I'm sure the two of you can handle this" i joke.

I sit back in my seat, and am soon joined by 10k. I looked up at his greeny blue eyes that briefly glanced out the window before meeting my eyes. "Hey" he smirks cheekily my stomach goes into a fit of butterflies i couldn't help but smile back. "So you know these people?" He asked.
"Yep, i found the group a few months in i was only 14 and had survived on my own since the outbreak happened" i told him.
"I was with my dad for a while... Then he turned, i-i had to give him mercy."
"I never knew my parents, they abandoned me when i was little"

The bus pulled to a stop the doors opened and that was us finally at the prison...
