Raven Haired Boy (10k Love Story)

Who was on watch?

We sat about the prison with a fire burning in the middle of the camp, we had just had dinner; spam.
I cradled Judith in my arms and sat next to 10k. Everyone was relaxed apart from Rick who stared deeply into the warm fire that left his face glowing. I gazed down on Judith her innocent face was calm and her eyes were closed she was breathing lightly.

I herd footsteps coming from behind me, it was Hershel. He tapped me on the shoulder and motioned for me to come with him. I handed Judith to 10k, she woke up and started crying, 10k was left with Judith he had a look of confusion on his face and didn't know what to do.

Hershel led me to the room Cassandra had been in since we came to the prison, her skin was a shade of green she looked awful. Doc and Hershel looked at me, Doc spoke up "She doesn't have long left". I hadn't known Cassandra, it was 10k I thought about he will be devastated. I held Cassandra's hand and said a few words to her, before returning to the others.

I came back to the warm fire to find 10k playing with Judith in the air, her face lit up and she had a gummy smile on her face. 10k smiled back at her making funny faces and noises. "Listen up people, today Andrea came here she told me the Governor is going to attack us - here at the prison i don't know when but it should be sometime soon." Rick took a pause and looked round at everyone. "First thing in the morning we stock up on ammunition and we prepare ourselves."

Carl takes Judith from 10k and takes her up to bed and Doc talks to 10k about Cassandra i presume. Everyone goes to bed now the fire is on the verge of going out. Me and 10k make our way up the stone stairs, we enter our cell and fall asleep straight away.

-A Few Hours later:

I hear a strange noise that startles me, my eyes suddenly open. Again i hear it, this time i jolt up I quietly grab my knife from my bottoms. "10k! Do you hear that?", i climb down from the bunk bed, i look at 10k he supports his body with his elbows. "Whats up?" He whispers in concern.
"I hear something out there!". He gets out of bed and also grabs his knife, we cautiously find the cell door in the pitch dark and go out the room. I look down the right side of the hall and 10k looks down the left side of the corridor. I feel him tug on my sleeve, "Hey" he nods towards the end of the hall. As far as i can make out - i can barely see a figure that lurks around in the dark, standing outside someones cell. "Pssst" 10k whispers louder towards the figure it snaps its head towards us and groans...

We now know what it is... 'It' makes its way towards us before we can do anything, the noise fades and its no longer visible. "It must have entered a cell..." I whispered. We jog along the long hall running our finger tips along the stone cold wall to since it is pitch dark.
10k comes to a halt, before he bursts into the cell unsure of where 'it' was, he whistles and it lunges for him. He grabs it by the shoulders trying to find its skull in the pitch dark the being is coming closer to 10ks face i jump in and grabs its hair to locate the head before piercing my blade through its skull. The body drops to the ground.
Beth sits up from her bed after the commotion. A glimpse of the moonlight catches onto the face of the being, we recognise it as Cassandra... I look up at 10k unable to recognise any expressions on his face. "Tom-..." I am cut off....

BANG!

Beth, jumps out of bed startled by the loud bang that shook the prison. Further down the hall Rick and Warren raise the alarm shouting and screaming for everyone - to get up, out and to arm themselves. 10k grabs my hand reacting quick and leads me to our cell, we grab our bags and weapons. "Theres too many of them!" Rick shouts down the hall. I can feel the panic and fear pulsing through my body.
Daryl appears at my cell "Cmon" his southern accent urges. I follow 10k and Daryl out the cell and down the stairs. Everyone meets down the stairs.

"We haven't got long, before these walls are brought down - they have a tank - We are out numbered!..." Rick stresses -
BOOM! another shot was fired - this time the damage is seen...
