"You want a shot?" 10k said bringing me back from my daydream. "Y-yea why not" he handed me the wooden slingshot and stones. I lifted the sling up and aimed closing one eye to focus i drew back the elastic and fired a stone it went straight through a Zs head.
I smiled in excitement and 10k smirked "you had one of these before?" He asked.
"Nope" i said as i looked at him "your pretty good with it" he took a pause and looked around.
"So, whats your name?"
"Astrid" he nodded "nice" he replied
"it means Divine Strength, so what about your name?"
"Its how many Zombies i plan to kill" i smirked to myself. At least he has something to keep him sane.
"So where we going?"
"Getting Murphy to California, he survived 8 zombie bites" "Really?" i mumbled to myself, as i tightened the bandage on my ankle its bruising had calmed down and it wasn't as swollen.
The car came to a stop. The old man Doc complained to himself and opened the bonnet of the black truck. Everyone jumped out the car, to see what was wrong apart from Warren, she didn't move. I slowly climbed down the truck.
Doc looked worried, Mack scratched his head and 10k peered over the engine.
"Me and Addy will see how far the next place to hold up is" and with that they both got on the motorbike and drove.
With Mack gone 10k came closer to the engine and spoke "its just a leak in the radiator hose" he tried to tape it up and used the last of the water supplies to fill the radiator.
"Whose driving next?" Doc exclaimed. 10k looked down. "Don't look at me" Murphy exclaimed as he got back in the car and kicked his feet up. Doc looked at 10k, and 10k looked up at Doc. "N-not after last time"
"Come on boy" Doc smacked10k's his back laughing.
"Come on 10k you can do it!" I joked as i nodded towards the drivers seat.
He nervously looked at me and jumped in the drivers seat. I went in the front with him, "don't worry i can help" i smiled playfully.
He turned the key and looked in the mirror at Doc who had fell asleep, he put his foot on the pedal and drove "relax 10k, your okay" i reassured him.
He kept his eyes on the road and relaxed his shoulders.
