Scarlett's POV
"Yes," I said.
Adam slipped the 10 carat ring on my finger and kissed me. "I love you Scarlett," He said. "I love you too Adam," I said.
3 Years Later
Adam's POV
3 months after I proposed to Scarlett, she gave birth to our beautiful twins.
Violet Kennedy and Noah Michael.
Scarlett and I got married 1 month after she gave birth to the twins.
Now, our band is busy working on our 5th album and The Voice is on its 5th season. I've been busy juggling work and family, but I try my best to make time for both. I recently told Scarlett that I wanted another baby. I love kids and I want more than just two kids and I knew she did too. She said we would talk about it, but she didn't know if we were ready.
I woke facing a sleeping Scarlett. She was so peaceful in her sleep and she looked so beautiful. I tucked a loose piece of her hair behind her ear and stroked her cheek with my thumb. I watched her slowly open her beautiful hazel eyes.
"Hello gorgeous," I said. "Hi handsome," She said before she kissed me. Our kiss was interrupted by two screaming 3 year olds. "Mommy! Daddy!" Violet screamed. Scarlett and I sat up and pulled Violet and Noah onto the bed. "What is it?" Scarlett asked Violet. "Noah colored on my wall," Violet whined.
Scarlett shot out of bed and ran to Violet's room. "NOAH MICHAEL LEVINE!" Scarlett screamed from Violet's room. "You're in trouble," Violet teased as she pointed at Noah. I looked at Noah's face and he looked upset. "Buddy, what did you draw?" I asked him. "A picture of me, you, mommy, and Violet," He said.
"NOAH, GET YOUR BUTT IN HERE! NOW!" Scarlett screamed. I got off the bed and picked Noah up. I carried him into Violet's room. Violet followed closely behind, waiting to see her brother get in trouble.
I walked into Violet's room and saw the huge picture on her pink wall. "Noah Michael Levine, what possesed you to draw on your sister's wall?" Scarlett asked him. Noah just shrugged his shoulders. "Adam, put him down. He's not a baby," Scarlett said. I set Noah down on the floor and picked Violet up.
"Noah, I will ask you one more time. Why did you draw on your sister's wall?" She asked as she bent down to look at him. "I just wanted to draw a picture." He said, not looking Scarlett in the eye. "Go in your room. You are in time out. You are not to come out until I tell you so." She said. Noah slumped his shoulders and headed to his room.
Violet started giggling and Scarlett immediately stood up. "Do you want to be in time out too, Violet?" Scarlett asked as she walked over to us. "No mommy," She said. "Ok, now go downstairs and color. On paper please." Scarlett said. I put Violet down and she ran out of the room.
Scarlett walked into the bathroom and opened the closet. She grabbed a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, ran it under water, and walked back into Noah's room. She started scrubbing the marker off of the wall. "Did you have to be that hard on him, babe?" I asked her. "He drew on the wall, Adam! What am I supposed to do? Say good job and let him go on his merry way? No." She said. "You're right. I'm going to go check on him." I said before I walked out.
I knocked on Noah's door. "Come in," He said. He was sitting on his race car bed with a toy car in his hand. I walked over to him and sat on the floor in front of him. "You ok, bud?" I asked him. He just shrugged his shoulders and moved the toy car on his leg. "What's wrong buddy? You can tell me." I said. "Mommy hates me," He said. "No she doesn't. She loves you very much," I said. "Well all she does is yell at me," He said.
"Mommy yells sometimes," I said. But he was right, Scarlett had been yelling at the kids a lot lately. It was small stuff like spilling things or fighting, things that they didn't mean to do and shouldn't haven gotten yelled at for. "But you never yell at us," He said. "I've yelled before, buddy. Usually, mommy is the one that never yells," I said.
"I don't like mommy when she yells," He said. "I know buddy, I don't either." I said. "Now I want you to go in there and tell mommy that you're sorry," I said. "But she told me to stay in here until she said I could get out," He said. "Well I can tell you that you can get out too." I said as I smiled at him. "I love you daddy," He said as he hugged me. "I love you too, Noah," I said.
Noah walked across the hallway, back into Violet's room. I stood in the doorway as I watched him approach Scarlett.
"Noah, do you choose to not listen too? I told you to stay in your room until I told you that you could come out," She said as she finished scrubbing the marker off of the wall. "Daddy told me that I could come out," He said. Scarlett looked up at me. "Really Adam? Thank you for undermining my authority," She said as she stormed out of the room.
I watched Noah stand there with his head down. I walked over to him and knelt down. "I'm sorry buddy. I didn't think she would get angry." I said. "See, she hates me," He said before he ran into his room. My heart broke for him.
I walked into our bedroom and shut the door behind me. Scarlett was sitting on the bed with her face in her hands. I sat next to her and rubbed her back. "Why would you tell him to come out of his room? Now he thinks that whenever I punish him, you will just get him out of it." She said. "I'm sorry babe. I told him to apologize to you and he said that you told him that you said that he couldn't come out of his room until you told him so." I said.
"He thinks you hate him," I said. Her face shot up from her hands. "What?" She asked. "Because you've been yelling at them a lot lately. He thinks you hate him," I said. I watched tears form around her eyes. "Oh my gosh..." She said. "Babe, don't take this the wrong way, but you have been yelling at them a lot lately. For stuff you would usually just brush off. Is there something going on?" I asked her.
"I had a miscarriage," She said.
