My alarm clocked blared as my Mum yelled at me to wake up, it was a Monday.
JUST KIDDING
The last period of the day finally arrived and I couldn't be more happy. It was art and I had it with my friend Simon.
"Good afternoon class."
Mrs.Gray strolled into class and smiled brilliantly at us. Everyone loves Mrs Gray , she's heaps of fun to be taught by.
"Alright class, you have two options to choose from. You either make a mosaic for the schools art show or design an item of clothing for our fashion show. If anyone needs any help, feel free to ask questions.""Oh, and you'll all be working with the same partners from your last assignment."
I sighed a breath of relief as I turned to look at Isabelle, my closest girl friend. Izzy's face sparkled with excitement as she pranced down the length of the classroom and gracefully plopped herself on the chair next to mine.
"Alright, so i'm thinking a tight topped dress that flares out from the waist down" Izzy speaks quickly, desperate to get her ideas out.
"Ok, but you have to deal with creating the dress, i'll sketch up your ideas and match the patterns and colors onto it." I smiled at Izzy, catching a glance at Simon, we was practically drooling over the fact that Isabelle was sitting right in front of me.
After 45 minutes, the bell rang and Isabelle and I packed out things and headed towards our lockers. I pulled out my backpack and started to put in my homework and whatever else I needed to take home.
"Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"
Isabelle shot me a knowing glance and pushed off her locker towards the massive crowd that had gathered.
And of course, as usual, the fight consisted of some poor boy who decided to challenge 'the great Jace Herondale'.
Jace was every girls dream. Gorgeous blond locks, golden eyes and golden skin. But he had a horrible personality, that I was determined to crack.Ever since we were little, Alec (Izzy's older brother), Isabelle and our friend, Simon, used to play together in the sand pit. But big bad Jace was off learning how to fight.
It's weird, growing up with someone , your whole life, yet you know nothing about them, other than the fact they live in the biggest house in town and that they have a bad reputation among schools."Bye Izz!" I gave her a quick hug and went to find Simon.
"Clary!" I spun around and came nose to nose with Simon.
"Hey Si, what wrong?" I asked
"Nothing" he dismissed " I'm just out of breath"
"So, our usual Friday nights, pizza and horror movies?" I shoulder bumped Simon as we trampled down the stairs of the outside of the school building.
"But my Mum told me we're all coming over to your house for dinner?"
"Well, in that case I better check with my mum" I smiled and gave Simon and quick hug and a kiss on the cheek as I took off towards my house."Hey Clare" my mum greeted me kindly, planting a kiss on my cheek.
"The Lightwoods, Lewis's and the Herondale's are coming for dinner, so dress nicely!" My stepfather , Luke called across the room.
I smiled one last time and leaped up the stairs, two at a time, hurriedly making my way to my bedroom to make myself semi-presentable.
"The black dress with the cut!"
My mum advised from downstairs.
I sighed as I grabbed the dress and laid it and my undergarments onto my bed and grabbed a towel to take a shower.
I took a quick shower and got dressed. My mum could get me into a dress, but never in a million years would she get me into high heels. I slipped on a pair of flats and blow dried my curly hair straight. Not bothering too much with my make up, I just added a bit of eyeliner and some mascara. I sprayed perfume in a circle around me and walked out of my room, to go help my mum set up the dining room, not that she needed any help, since they hired caterers.A loud knock echoed through out the house. I made my way to the door and fixed my dress quickly.
I put on a smile and opened the door.
"Clarissa, it's so nice to see you again!" Celine smiled warmly at me, hugging me quickly.
"Clarissa" Stephen greeted me, sharing the same smile as his wife.
I pushed the door closed and turned to look at the Herondale's.
It was easy to see where Jace got his good looks from.
Ah crap
I warily open the front door again, coming face to face with Jace.
"Sorry?" I gave him a wary smile, in hopes he won't rip my head off and feed it to demons.
"Why would I do that Sweetheart?" Jace smirked as he walked through the door.
"Did I just, did I just say that out loud?"
Jace just smirked and gestured for me to walk first.
"I must say Clary, you look awfully pretty in that dress"
I rolled my eyes at his comment, practically able to hear his smirk in his words. You see, this is why I never got close to Jace. He's always hiding himself behind this flirtatious, bad guy attitude.
I nearly sighed in relief when the door bell ringed, I could finally escape the boring adult talk and the small talk between Jace and I.The open door relived a bright red Simon, with Isabelle on his arm and Alec standing behind them.
I gave Si and Isabelle a hug before turning to Alec.
"Aleccc!" I pull him down into a tight hug.
"Hi Clary, long time no see" he smiled , trying not to suffocate in my tight hold.
" A little birdy told me you've been crushing on someone." I smirk at him proudly.
"Uh oh"-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
