There's a Reason He Doesn't Sleep

Nobody's going to hurt you.

A silhouette of a tall, slim man appeared across from him, his face hidden by the long bangs that hung loose. The lights were dim, but even so, he could see the evil smirk set upon his lips.

"It's time for another game and this time, I'll make sure you won't ever dare to say anything to anyone ever again." he said as he neared the blond, slowly lifting his head.

"N-no...stay away." At first, his legs wouldn't move, they wouldn't respond no matter how hard Naruto urged them to move as the figure appeared. "Don't touch me!" He shouted, tilting his head away as a hand came up to caress his cheek.

"Hey, Naruto." He spoke. "You love our little play times, right?" He asked, lifting his head now, those eyes sending shivers down the blond's spine as he grinned from ear to ear.

"No!"

"I'm coming for you..."

"No! Stay away!"

"Wait, Naruto, please, wake up!" The blond struggled against the hands on his shoulders, blindly kicking and attacking whoever it was.

"You can't escape..."

"NO!" He quickly sat up, breathing rapidly as he shook off the hands on him.

"Naruto, you're okay! It's just a nightmare, wake up!"

"D-Deidara?" Naruto opened his eyes, realizing he had them shut the entire time. "D-Dei...is he here?" He asked, trembling as his eyes scanned the area and feared finding the man from his nightmares. He found nothing, only a wide eyed Sasori who stood by the kitchen and Kisame hurrying to his side as the blond held Deidara tightly in his grip.

"Uh, Naruto, if you could... you know, let go?" Deidara smiled a bit, pointing to where Naruto's hands clutched at his clothing.

Embarrassed, Naruto let go. "S-sorry." He muttered, hugging the pillow next to him to hide his face.

"Are you okay?" Sasori asked, sitting carefully next to him. "We came over as soon as Konan told us to."

"Hn." Deidara nodded.

Kisame walked closer, throwing a kitchen towel over his shoulder. "How are you feeling?"

That was an interesting question. Exactly what or how was Naruto feeling? Well, embarrassed for one thing, tired from another, and heartbroken because... Sasuke. Past all that, Naruto was scared out of his mind. "Like shit." He answered. "I think I'll leave to my room."

"Itachi and Kyu are on their way over." Sasori announced. "Looks like Kyu's done." He said, looking up from his phone.

"Done from what?" Naruto asked.

"Killing Sasuke." Sakura bluntly stated, looking over towards Naruto and giving a joking smile. The blond smiled back.

"I'm coming for you..."

Naruto's body froze as he recalled the voice from last night, the words repeating twice before disappearing. "Wait..." He turned around to look over at Sasori. "Who's coming over?"

"Your brother and Itachi." The red head responded.

"Naruto?" Deidara and Kisame looked concerned, noticing the pale tone taking over the rosy complexion Naruto naturally sported. Cold sweat ran down the boy's forehead. "What is it?"

"It's happening again." Sakura spoke, rushing over towards Naruto as he entered another state of panic.

"Don't...don't let him near me." He whispered, gripping tightly to Sakura's hold. Although keeping his stand, Deidara rushed in and helped him just in case he fell. "Don't let him touch me...keep him away..."

"Naruto?" Kisame, interested in what the boy spoke, cautiously walked over. "Who? Keep who away?"

"Just don't let him hurt me, please!" The bell rang. "Don't let him in! Tell him to leave!"

Sasori walked over to the door, checking who was outside. "It's only Konan." He called back, opening the door as Naruto nodded.

"I leave you guys for a while and come back to this again?" Konan scolded, throwing off her jacket and over to the terrified blond. "Alright, which one of you idiots caused this?" She asked, looking over to Deidara and Sasori.

"Neither of us." Sasori responded, about to close the door when suddenly he was pushed away.

"Naruto!" Kyu ran in, wide eyed and his heart about to jump out his throat as he looked over towards his little brother. "Oh my god, Naruto..." He rushed to his sibling, pushing the others off of him to hug him tightly and pass a hand through his golden hair. At first, Naruto had no idea why Kyu was crying, could it be that he knew? Sakura did mention he went to see Sasuke, does that mean Sasuke told him or was Kyu just feeling bad for him that they broke up?

Wait.

Sasori had said Kyu and Itachi were on their way over. If Kyu was here already, then that could only mean Itachi was here, too. Realizing this, Naruto lifted his head up a bit and slowly looked over towards the door where the Uchiha closed the door behind him.

"Yo, Naruto. Are you alright?" Naruto stiffened at the sound of his voice, his skin forming goosebumps as Itachi neared and extended his hand to touch his shoulder. His heart almost stopped as the Uchiha leaned down to face him directly. "Hey, we're here now. Everything's going to be alright, okay? Nobody's going to hurt you."
