It was early in the morning, around seven when Naruto had gotten up. At first, Deidara and Sasori had shown up to bother him, but then, they decided the house still lacked in decoration and left to the store. After a few hours, Konan and Itachi had shown up, Kyu walking behind them as he helped Deidara and Sasori carry bags into the house.
They had started decorating at about three, right after they had settled in and eaten lunch. It was now six in the afternoon and they had only but a few hours until the party begun. What party? Christmas eve party, of course. Deidara and Sasori had invited everyone, and if everyone was invited, then that obviously meant the Uchiha would naturally be here.
"Naruto, check this out!" Deidara had pushed Sasori aside, making the redhead stumble upon a few Christmas decorations. Ignoring the profanities coming from said redhead's mouth, Deidara continued to walk over towards Naruto, swinging an arm around him while the other held up a clear object. "Pretty, isn't it?"
Naruto nodded, staring into the crystal ornament with acrylic decorations. "Did you make it?" Deidara nodded happily, taking pride in his artwork.
"Though, it would look prettier if it were to break. Broken glass is even more beautiful." There he goes again, saying odd things about how art should be appreciated the moment an object becomes destroyed.
"It'd look better if it were preserved in a case." Sasori grumbled, helping himself out of the pile of decorations.
"Oh, really?" Deidara challenged, grabbing a cheap ornament from the box atop the TV. "So you're saying this doesn't look pretty?" He asked, throwing the ornament on the floor to watch it break into tiny little pieces.
"Bastard, what's beautiful about that?" Sasori asked, taking another ornament and showing how well it looked as it was. "You know what? Why am I even arguing? My ornament was better." Sasori said towards Naruto, who gave out a small laugh and turned his attention back towards Deidara's crystal ornament.
Through the clear crystal, he watched as Kyu walked in with Konan, the purple haired girl laughing at the boy's appearance.
"Kyu." Naruto scoffed. "The lights are meant for decoration, not...this." He walked over to his brother, helping Konan untangle the string of lights from the older Uzumaki's body.
"You don't say?" Kyu asked, rolling his eyes. "Had you not said anything, everyone would've thought I was just making a fashion statement. Way to ruin the fun, blondie." He joked.
"How did this even happen?" Naruto ignored his brother, asking Konan as they figured out a way to untangle the lights. She laughed, pointing towards the ceiling.
"Itachi's up on the roof." She started. "This idiot made him angry and 'Tachi just threw the lights at him." She gave a small laugh while the blond stayed quiet.
"Look at him though, isn't he looking festive?" Itachi asked as he walked in, taking his gloves off and blowing on his hands. "Look how better it looks when you plug it in." He said, taking the end of the plug and plugging it into the wall. Deidara, Sasori, and Konan all laughed as Kyu almost resembled the Christmas tree. While they proceeded to take pictures, Itachi looked over at Naruto and smiled, walking by and as he did, ruffling the blond's hair, tugging on it a little as he lifted his hand from the blond's head. "Guys, let's hurry this up or there's no party later." He announced, looking around and calling over Kisame and Sakura as they entered the house. They began helping him finish decorating the tree.
Naruto didn't want him here, though. Although Itachi looked like he was leading everyone to finish setting up, Naruto knew he had an ulterior motive. "Kyu." He called out towards his brother, in his head coming up with a reason to have the Uchiha kicked out. Kyu, finally free from the christmas lights, looked over to his brother and walked over.
