~Unexpected Departure~

I skipped through the throngs of teenagers and young adults that waited and hung out in front of Eddie's club, Jaded. Eddie was the only other vampire in town that I trusted and thought of as family. He had also taken me in as one of his own and I owed him for that many times throughout my long life.

I stepped past the bouncers with a nod and weaved through the many dancing humans around me, Eddie's office was right in front of me and I could already feel him watching me walk through his club.

The lights and noise filled my senses and the strong smell of sweat and booze, and god knows what else assaulted my nose. I nodded to the human bartender to my left and continued on my way to the stairs that lead up to the V.I.P area and eventually Eddie's office.

I sighed as I was stopped at the stairs, I growled to the bouncers and they quickly pushed me through the barriers and I jogged up the stairs. I had lost Aiden in the hectic area but I knew he would find me again eventually. He was probably looking out for any vampires.

I ran through the V.I.P nest and threw open the office doors, quickly shutting them behind me. Eddie paused as I rushed into the room and sat on the couch, I growled in frustration.

"I need to get out of here again, Uncle. He's found me." I said as I raked my hand through my hair. I pushed it out of my face and huffed. Eddie had his back to me as he poured two glasses of gin.

I smiled as the soothing smell hit my nose, "Well, I think you need to get out of here then, I've already had several vamps this week looking for you. Sky's getting very clever, when was the last time you actually spoke to your Brother?" He turned around and handed me a glass, I took it and poured it down my throat. I gave him the glass back and asked for another one.

"About two centuries ago when Mother finally died the old goat. He wasn't best pleased when I showed up to the funeral with a Lycan. Let's just say it was a near death experience." I choked with laughter as Eddie shook his head.

Lycans. Vyras, Werewolves, Verr, Weir, Warg take your pick they all translate to big wolf man or woman either way.

Eddie had never met any of my existing Royal family, my Father had died leaving me and Skylar, Dain in the human realm, to fight for the throne. As children we had been separated for the majority of our lives.

My Mother had always loved Sky more than me, and so Dad had taken a liking to me instead of Sky. When my Father died, my Mother didn't want me living with her and her Son, so I was eventually shipped off to live with Aunts, Uncles you name it I lived with it.

Eventually I was old enough to live on my own and I have been a Rogue since the early Victorian era. That's when I started to travel more and I found family with strangers and other Rogues. Eddie here was one of the few Rogues who have stayed by my side throughout the years and I now see him as an Uncle I never had, but always wanted.

When I left and came back out of hiding to see my Mother be put in the ground, Skylar had been turned on me by my own Mother and he had snapped. He has since then found anything he can to hold against me and has tried many times to kill me, but somehow I always manage to escape and survive.

"Yeah that was a close one, I remember it vividly." He sipped at his drink as he handed me another one, "You were pretty messed up for a while, but as things are it wasn't the worst. I suppose these will come in handy then if you're on the run?"

He held out a small bag, I left it here just in case. Sixty thousand in cash and two extra credit cards. Several different I.D cards and different sets of keys for my worldwide apartments. I took them and thanked him.
