10. Sleepless Nights

~Sleepless Nights~

"Come on then." I sighed as I stepped back into the kitchen trying miserably to hide my excitement, but my mood plummeted quickly when I walked in to see Kayden and Lucian facing each other off as wolves. Their growls filled the little kitchen for a second before they silenced and argued mentally. I sighed as I stepped up between the two massive wolfs and they both looked at me funny as I looked between them.

"Lucian, what the hell do you think you are doing?" I growled as he nudged my shoulder apologetically, his chocolate fur ruffled and messy as he looked from me to Kayden discreetly.

'I'm playing, now shut up so I can make Lover Boy here jealous.' He chuckled in my mind but kept his face blank from any emotion, I palmed my head and sighed in irritation. Kayden growled behind me and I lifted my head to see his hackles rise in anger.

My mouth opened to tell them both off but Lucian cut me off as he licked one side of my face. I scowled at him as Kayden snarled. I was pushed out of the way as Kayden jumped at Lucian and I effectively landed on my ass. Lucian yelped as Kayden knocked him into the marble counters behind them and I growled.

"Clarissa is so going to kill us." I growled under my breath as I got to my feet fluidly and grabbed Lucian's tail. I pulled him out from underneath Kayden and he huffed as I threw him to one side of the room as I watched Kayden turn and stalk forwards again. I growled at Lucian to stay put while I stepped forward to meet Kayden and I pulled his muzzle down to my eye level. He saw that it was me and relaxed from his tensed fighting position. He huffed in my face and lay on his stomach so he was the same height as me. I released his muzzle and sighed raking my hands through my hair.

'Arée?' His cold wet nose pressed gently into the centre of my chest, 'I'm sorry...I just...I don't know what came over me.' He stuttered and breathed a sigh and pulled my hair free from the bun. I focussed on loosening it before I turned to Lucian and scowled at him. He grinned wolfishly as he sat in the doorway.

'I'm going to go pick a film for later.' He chuckled as he phased back to his human form and jogged out of the kitchen. I scowled at his naked back as he plodded into the front room.

"For God's sake! Put some clothes on!" I heard my Aunt shout before I broke out into laughter. Kayden's body next to me rocked with amusement as I breathed deeply and turned back to him.

"Never mind about what happened here. It was Lucian being himself, just ignore him." I shrugged as Kayden got to his feet again and stepped closer, he nudged my hand with his nose as he pressed his face into my palm. He purred again and chuckled, I trailed my hand across his head and over his vast body as I stepped to his side. I could feel his body rumble with purrs and I smiled.

"Come on, we better go beat Lucian to the bed before he claims it." I said and laughed when he barked and wagged his huge fluffy tail excitedly. I full out run up the stairs with a very large, furry white Kayden. I growled and stopped abruptly when I peaked into my room and Lucian was already on my bed, stretched out across it with his ankles crossed. I was glad to see he had a pair of boxers on at least. Kayden's head popped over the top of my shoulder and huffed at Lucian, Lucian rolled over laughing as I stomped into my room. Kayden followed in and swished the door shut with his tail. I chuckled as he loped over to the closest wall and lay down with his legs folded out to the side of him.

'Hey Babe, come sit by me?' He called and I turned to see him giving me the puppy dog face, I rolled my eyes but stepped over and folded myself down into his body. His warm body enveloped me and my hand unconsciously shot to his head as I stroked his fur. Just as my wall parted to let my t.v. through, when it was in place Lucian turn it on and returned to the bed in seconds. I cocked my eyebrow in irritation when the movie started.
