He had walked into another empty house. She was no where to be seen and he didn't really care. He loved her, yes. But at the moment, he couldn't stand her.

He walked upstairs to the bedroom, seeing a note on the dresser. It wasn't obvious at first because of how tiny it was, but he saw it nonetheless.

He felt his heart pounding as he forced himself to pick up the note and open it. He felt his stomach feel uneasy as he unfolded the crumpled piece of paper.

His eyes stared at the letters for seemed like an eternity. He didn't expect this. He expected an explanation or when she'd be home. But that wasn't the case. The note had only four words on it. Four scarce words.

Dear Shawn,

I'm sorry.

He ripped up the note, throwing it in the trash bin. He ran his fingers through his hair in stress.

How could he let himself be treated like this. In a relationship where they hardly even talked to each other anymore. In a relationship where they didn't even love each other anymore. Or, well, in a relationship were she didn't return his feelings.

In a relationship where he constantly tried but got no return. And when she tried, he felt disgusted. He finally admitted it. Their relationship is broken. He didn't want to live like this. He couldn't live like this anymore.

He sat in the bedroom until he heard the door open. He walked downstairs and saw her.

She smiled slightly, "Hey." She said. It sounded like she didn't even want to say those words.

"Where've you been?" He asked, raising his eyebrow. "Out. You know, with my friends?" She answered simply.

How could she lie so easily?

He nodded slightly. "Where have you been lately?" He asked again. "I just told you. Out." She said, the nervousness was finally breaking into her voice.

"No. Not today. But lately. Like you're always out, you can't possibly always be out with your same group of friends." He stated. "Oh and, I got your note." He added on.

Her eyes burned with tears. It had finally come. She had to say it.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean it. I regret it. I'm so sorry." She cried, the tears streaming down her face now. "It was a mistake. I'm sorry. I-" She was cut off.

"Okay." He said. She looked him in the eyes. "What?" She choked out, her voice was straining. "I said, okay." He said, crossing his arms. "That's it?" She felt her anger mix with confusion and relief.

"I know. I know what happened, I don't really need your side of the story." He stated and walked off.

But she just stood there. Bewildered. The tears on her face had now dried onto her cheeks.
