I did as Jen said and went to the bathroom to change, careful not to mess anything up. When I finished I took my clothes to my room and tossed them in a small clothes bin, making a mental note to do laundry later, and walked back to where Jen was.
"Hey, you look nice." Jen said. "For once."
I rolled my eyes and leaned against the door frame as she put the last silver box away.
"Let's go downstairs." She said. I followed her down and ended up stumbling right into her back when she suddenly stopped.
"Why'd you stop?" I asked, annoyed. But she ignored me.
"You two look great." I heard my dad say as he walked up.
"Great." I muttered. "Can we go?"
"Richard, you drive." Jen said, following him to the door. I quickly put on my black sneakers before heading out, admiring how nice they actually looked with a dress.

Once we were there and out into the breezy weather, my dad immediately turned to talk to me.
"Your Grandma will be here." He told me, then took off with Jen to meet up with family. I walked around, trying to stay out of everyone's way. There were tons of people around - mostly guests, I assumed - walking around and taking seats in the chairs.
I sat down in the back row of the side Jen and my dad were standing near and watched th em as they spoke to random people.
"Hey, can I sit here?" Someone asked. I looked up to see a guy, older than me - probably in college, with brown hair and blue-green eyes.
"Yeah, sure." I said. He smiled and sat down beside me.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Lynnee." I replied. "What's yours?"
"I'm Dustin." He said. "So how do you know the bride and groom?"
"The bride's sister is.. I guess dating my dad." I replied, forcing back a disgusted face as I thought of their relationship.
"Jen?" Dustin asked. I gave him a weird look.
"You know her?" I asked.
"Jen's my mom." Dustin replied.
"Jen has kids?" I asked stupidly. Dustin chuckled.
"Yeah." He replied. "Well, just me."
"That's cool." I replied. "I didn't know she was the type to even want kids. No offense!"
"No, it's cool." Dustin said, smiling. "She isn't. Not really."
"Sorry." I said.
"It's fine." He repied.
Pretty soon the music was starting up. Everyone - now seated - looked back and watched as the flower girl, the bridesmaids, etc. walked down the aisle and took their places. Then the bride walked down. She had beautiful, curled up, dark brown hair and bright green eyes. There really wasn't much of a resemblance in her and Jen. She had a warm, sweet smile and Jen had.. well, a Jen smile.
They were both tall, slim, and pretty, but they still didn't look related much. Derek looked more like his aunt than his actual mom, in my opinion.
Everything went by pretty slow, and I kind of tuned it out while I thought about my mom. But pretty soon it was time to eat and all that other junk they do. Sorry, not really knowledgable on weddings.
I took a seat at an empty picnic table, as others were doing, and twisted around a can of Root Beer when an elderly woman walked over and sat across from me.
"You must be Lynnee." She said. I looked up at her and smiled.
"Yeah, that's me." I replied sweetly. "What's your name?"
"I'm Grandma Addie." She said, laughing a little. "I don't really like the word Grandma, but I think it's fine if you call me that."
I smiled and gave a short nod in agreement.
"How old are you?" She asked.
"I'll be sixteen pretty soon." I said.
"Wow, that's great." Grandma replied.
She seemed really sweet. She was around my height, a little chubby but not much, had white hair that she kept up in a bun, and was really pretty. Her eyes were like mine, I loved them.
"Are you enjoying the wedding?" Grandma Addie asked me.
"Yeah, it's nice." I said.
"Do you have any friends here?" She asked.
"Yeah, a few." I replied. "They're great friends."
"We should all hang out together soon." Grandma Addie suggested.
"That sounds like fun." I replied.
