"So.. Uh, what kinda clothes do you like?" My dad asked.
"I really like skinny jeans." I replied.
"Okay. And for shirts?" He asked.
"I really like t-shirts with band names. Or tank tops." I said.
"Alright.. Well you can lead the way." He replied, not seeming to care much.
We went through several stores where I got the types of clothes I liked. Since California was hot, I got mostly plain tank tops in various colors. I prefered my own black converse, but since they were soaked from the rain today, my dad had me get a pair of complete black ones. He seemed uncomfortable with all the girl-like shopping, so I did my best to do it quick and get it over with.
Then we went out for pizza and bowling.
"Will you actually play?" I asked.
"I suppose." He muttered. Halfway through the game we took a break to eat.
"Why did you ask me to stay with you for the summer?" I asked and my dad shrugged, thinking. "Was it even your idea? Or Jen's?"
"Mine." My dad answered quickly. I raised an eye brow. "I wanted to spend time with you and get to know you."
"You haven't asked me about much." I said.
"How old are you?" He asked.
"Fifteen." I replied. "I'll be sixteen in August."
"What day?" He asked.
"Seventh." I replied and he nodded.
"Grades?" He asked.
"I'm a straight A student." I said.
"Have any friends?" He asked.
"Yes. Sydney who moved to Colorado. Katy and Allie are twins and they're my best friends." I replied.
"Just three?" He asked.
"Yeah, so?" I replied. "How many do you have?"
"Hundreds." He smirked.
"Yeah? That's a lot." I said. "How do you know they like you for you though?" My dad looked at me.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Well how do you know they dont just hang out with you because they want to be part of the spot light. And get caught in photos with you walking out and around?" I asked.
"How do I know thats not why you're here?" He answered rudely.
"Because I'm not that kind of person." I said. "I would never do that to someone."
"My point." He said. I rolled my eyes and took a bite of pizza.
