The hospital was crowded with people, some from the accident - who were still coming in - and others with different problems. I stood by the big, glass doors with Zaydon and Jaelie as we waited for our parents.

"Are you guys okay?" I asked them.

"Oh yeah." Jaelie said. "Hardly any harm done, really." Zaydon rolled his eyes as if to say 'yeah right'.

Angela was the first one to get here. She asked us if we were okay several times, which we all said yes to each time. She hugged me, then hugged Jaelie and Zaydon tighter.

"Is someone coming for you, Lynnee?" She asked.

"Yeah, my dad and Jen." I replied.

"Okay." She said. Then the cop who brought us here greeted her and walked a few feet away to talk with her, Jaelie and Zaydon.

My dad and Jen showed up a few minutes after that.

"You have to wait for the cop to finish talking to Angela." I told them. "He wants to talk to you next." My dad nodded and gave me a tight hug.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"I'm fine." I mumbled, holding my side. He let go without noticing I was in pain.

"Jen, hug her." My dad said.

"What? Why should I?" Jen protested.

"Because we could have lost her." He replied.

"Doubtful." I muttered, only audible to myself. Jen rolled her eyes and gave me a half hug that lasted for about two seconds until she was annoyed of me just standing there like a statue and not hugging her back.

"Just don't start expecting hugs from me." She said to me.

"Jen, you happen to be the last person I would expect a hug from." I told her. She scowled and I saw my dad hiding a smile with his fist. Then the cop came over.

"So I found out from the doctor that your friend Dannie is fine." He said. "But she's resting for the day so you're going to have to wait until tomorrow to visit her."

"Okay." I replied, letting out a sigh of relief.

"That's about all I've got to tell you. Have a safe drive home and be careful." The cop said.

"Thanks." My dad replied.

"No prob, and hey, I'm waiting for that movie of yours to come out." The cop said, smiling.

I climbed into the back seat of Jen's car. It was spacious and a shiny blue. The seats were black leather and cold when I got in.

"When did it decide to get so cold here?" She asked.

"It's a normally cold and rainy state, Jen." My dad replied.

"You're obviously so used to the sunny weather in California." I told her and she shot me a dirty look through the rear view mirror. I hid a smile and kept quiet the whole way home.

When we got there I walked slower to the door then my dad and Jen, who were already up there, unlocking it.

"What is taking you so long?" Jen asked, clearly annoyed.

"My side hurts. Moron." I muttered the last word quietly.

"Well get an ice pack or a heat pad or something." She told me.

"Jen, relax." My dad said. She rolled her eyes and walked inside.

"Do you need anything?" He asked.
