A/N this chapter is dedicated to TheBiscey because she's my new "bestie"
I sit up sweating. I look around haunted by the memory. I see my dad and instantly relax.
I lay down and look at the black starry sky. I close my eyes, soon to be disrupted by the familiar sound of the flesh eating beasts we call walkers.
I grab my knife and jump up. I look around and see a walker coming out from the bushes. I walk closer and drill my cold metal knife into its soft baby like skull.
It falls to the ground lifeless. I grab my bags and wake my dad up.
"We're leaving...now." Is all I said before walking into the cluster of trees. I turn around and see my dad slowly trailing behind me.
I walk farther and farther till my knees buckle and I collapse on the floor. I lay and stare at the sky.
I whine and stand back up. We walk for about 10 more minutes till we reach a cabin. I start walking towards it until my dad grabbed my wrist.
"You don't know what's in there." He warns.
"Please" I roll my eyes "I've come this far and if you don't think I can take down a few walkers then your wrong."
He lets go of my arm and I walk closer. I kick the door down and raise my crossbow. I look around. I walk into another room and look around cautiously.
I open the closet when someone jumps on my back. I struggle under their grip as they drag me out the door.
I think to myself. How could my dad not hear any of that. He's stupid or something.

Next thing I know, I see a bright light. I sit up and look around. I grab my head because I had a pounding headache.
I hear the door creek and my eyes shot to someone I never thought I would see again. "Uncle Merle?" I ask bewildered.
"Yup that's me sunshine."
"I- what happened to you when this all started? Why weren't you home when my mom went to get you?"
"I couldn't wait around for your mother or you. I had to get out of there. It's not anyone's fault." He spat.
"You've changed," I started "for the worst. What happened to you?" I remark.
"Sunshine, this kind of world changes people. You can't just expect me to be the same Uncle Merle do you?"
I stare at him. "Don't call me sunshine. Your not my uncle and I'm not your niece. You've changed and I don't like it." I stand up and run towards the door.
He grabs my wrist as I reach for the door handle. "Let me go!" I scream. "I don't know you!"
I rip my hand from his grip and run into the woods. With Merle right behind me.
I push myself harder. I see the cabin and run up the steps. I push the door open then slam it shut and put my body weight against it. "Dad?!" I scream "help!"
I see my dad peer around the corner and immediately charge to the door. He puts his body weight against it as well.
"Who is it?" He grunts trying to hold the person behind the door back.
"Uncle Merle."
