Chapter 12 Great Dates and Soul mates

Today was my date with Carl. I was really nervous.

My outfit was a romper with a white top and floral bottom I had sandals a sun hat and sunglasses.

By now it was around 6:45 I'm guessing by the sun. My date with Carl was at 7:45I have 60 minutes.

I took a shower and I got dressed. I combed my hair and left it down.

~7:30~

I have 15 minutes left so I do my nails. They were baby blue which was weird since I'm a Tomboy.

I didn't know what we were doing Carl just told me to be in the guard tower at 7:45

It's now 7:40. I say goodbye to everyone and Beth said "wow never thought a Dixon would wear that!" I laughed "well goodbye!" I smiled and waved to everyone

"Wait Faith!" I knew it was my dad.

I hummed meaning yes.

"Can I talk to you for a minute?" He questioned. "Okay 1 minute I'm timing...go" I giggled

"Ok well ummm good luck I'm sure he has the perfect date planned out. It feels a little bit weird seeing you in that because you're a tomboy"

"That's what I was thinking!

"Ha well good luck I love you so much!"

"Love you and thanks!" I kissed my dad goodbye. (On the cheek)

~at guard tower~

I walked in but nobody was there there was a little note that said "Hey Faith I see you made it to the guard tower. Well umm if I'm not there in 10 minutes look for me.

I smiled and waited.

~15 minutes later~

I gave Carl a extra 5 minutes and he's still not here. Now I'm kind of mad.

I went looking for Carl. I was about to go to his sell when I saw him making out with my Best friend (Beth)

I walked in and slammed the door causing them both to jump.

Carl looked at me with big eyes. "F-Faith I'm so s-sorry"

Then Beth said "I'm so sorry." She frowned and walked away.

"Faith I'm sorry Beth came in and she was talking to me and I kissed her and things got heated. I-I'm so so so s-sorry!"

"It's fine Carl"

"Really?"

"Yes Carl" I walked over to him. "Because we are through!!" I screamed at him and ran away with tears in my eyes.

I bumped in to my dad and Rick Damn it!

"S-sorry" I said.

My dad lifted my head. "What's wrong?"

"Why don't you go ask Carl?" I said.

My dad looked at Rick. He gave him the glare you don't want to see.

"Dad I'll tell you and Rick but then you have to speak to Carl."

They agreed and we sat down.

"Ok so our date was today and I was in the guard tower waiting for him. He wrote a note saying if he wasn't there in 10 minutes to look for him. It had been 15 minutes and I went looking for him. When I got to his sell he was m-making out with B-Beth. And we just got in a fight and I-I broke up with h-him" I cried into my dad's shoulder.

My dad rubbed my back. "Rick you go talk to yer son." He said 100% serious.

Rick nodded and walked away to go find Carl.

10 minutes later

Carl came out with puffy red eyes "F-Faith I'm so sorry it didn't m-mean anything to m-"

"Carl it meant something to you. If it d-didn't you wouldn't have done it."

"Faith I'm s-sorry"

"No Carl did you have to do this I was thinking you could be trusted but you can't. You ruined what was shiny but now it's all rusted. I'm sorry doesn't always mean your truly sorry. I'm sorry Carl but I can't get back with someone who just starts making out with my best friend. Beth is sweet and I know she is truly sorry.

But you. You have to prove it to me. When you think your ready to prove it, come and find me."

And with that I walked to my cell with my head bowed in defeat. The love of my life just kissed my best friend could life get any worse.....

Maybe we are not meant to be... Maybe we're not soulmates....
