Chapter 3

.......When we got back we had hunted and killed 3 squirrels, 4 rabbits, and 1 deer.

My dad was very proud of me. He said "let's skin these things and then we can maybe cook them for dinner."
"Sure." Is all I said.

My dad new something was wrong.

He came over to me and told me to sit down. I did what he told me to do.

He said "what's wrong, Ms.Badass?"
"Badass" was his nickname for me. I said "it's just that.....never mind." A tear slipping down my face. I watched it as it hit the ground. He knew I was lying.

"Faith, what's wrong" he said now getting pissed off.

I had to tell him sometime.
I took a deep breath and said "ok dad your probably gonna get mad at me but, you know how you always call ms.Badass? Maybe I'm not a badass anymore.

He was confused 'cause he said "what do ya mean yer not ms.badass anymore?"

I said well I have a soft spot for two people......" I got really nervous my palms were sweaty and I was about to cry I then said "and those two people are you....." I took a deep breath and said "and Carl."

I covered my ears really quickly and squeezed my eyes shut.

But he didn't say anything he just let a tear slip from his face. That was the first time I saw him cry since mom turned which was almost 2 years ago.

I said "I'm so sorry" I cried even harder and ran away.

I ran to the bathroom and locked the door. I took a piece of glass I found and started cutting my wrists.

About 2 minutes later my dad was banging on the door. He was trying to get in. But I didn't let him. I knew he was crying because when he tried to talk his voice cracked.

I got deeper by the minute. I was almost at my veins when my dad pried the doors open.

He ran over and hugged me. I whispered "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm so sorry."

Now crying even harder than before.

He said "I'm not mad at you I was just happy that you finally loved somebody besides me and yer mom. When he got to the last part he frowned. He then said "you would have made her so proud."

He cried harder and I hugged him soo tight my wrists started to bleed again and he said "let's get you to Hershel."

I said thanks to Hershel and he said "my Beth did the same thing." I gave him a hug and skipped away. My dad said I could sleep on the top bunk in his cell tonight. I tell you that man had a sweet spot for me.

~*~The next morning~*~

I am going to tell Carl about my feelings today. I was scared but like my dad always says "it doesn't matter how long it takes you as long as you concur your fears you did it." Before I went to tell Carl I asked my dad. "I noticed you and Carol. Why don't you ask her out?"

He then said "'cause I ain't nobody's bitch." We both smiled and laughed. Then I went to tell Carl.

Carl's POV~(point of view)
I was really scared to tell Faith how I felt. My dad said "just tell her and if she doesn't feel the same way there are plenty of other girls here" he smiled and I smiled to but I was nervous. Really nervous.

Faith's POV
I was walking and I wasn't paying attention and I bumped into someone. I looked up to see who it was. Shit it's Carl.
F~Faith
C~Carl
F: hey Carl. How are you?
C:hey Faith I'm good you?
F:good I guess
F&C: I have to tell you something!
C: well umm..I uh...
Carl's face turned red
F: I'll go first
C:ok
F: well umm Carl I've been meaning to tell you this for a while I ummm....Carl I like you
I blurted out I squinted my eyes waiting for the rejection but there was none.

He just said "I feel exactly the same way."

I was so relived.

He then asked me a question that would change my life forever.

"Faith will you be my girlfriend?"

I wasn't going to say no "yes! Yes a million times!"

He smiled and kissed me on the cheek.

Now to tell my dad........
