"Noelle, get up. It's time for school." I heard a voice say, a masculine voice. I woke up with a sudden jerk and sat up so fast, I saw spots. "Whoa! Noelle, are you okay?" I felt a hand on my back. I jumped away from it. And as soon as I did I fell to the floor.
And then, I got my vision back and I remembered where I was. Gabriel Edwards stood at the other side of the bed, trying not to laugh. I rubbed my eyes and tried to stand up, but my legs were numb so I fell back down. Mr. Edwards laughed and helped me up.
"I was not expecting that kind of reaction from you." He said in between laughs. "Did you sleep well?"
I nodded, he smiled and continued speaking, "Good, now go take a shower and come down for breakfast. Oh, and, I'm sorry but the only clothes that could fit you nicely are my mother's, I brought some, choose whichever you want as long as you return them. She doesn't use them that often so I don't think she'll miss them in a while. You can use the towel you used yesterday or you can grab any other towel in the bathroom, they're all clean." I raised my eyebrows slowly at him. He was babbling again. He noticed and nervously laughed, a blush tinting his ears. "Just go shower!" And then he left laughing.
I grabbed the clothes which were on the floor, next to the door, and laid them out on the bed. His mom was a little smaller than me and her taste in clothes was ... the exact opposite of mine. The shirts were pastel colored and frilly, or ruffled, and ... cute. And her jeans were all skinny or were skirts. Oh My God. I grabbed one of the skinny pants and grabbed the only shirt that wasn't that frilly and my underwear. I walked to the bathroom and locked the door.
I took a shower and brushed my teeth while I did. I dried myself, put on the clothes and looked at myself in the mirror. What was I wearing? Well, the clothes were nice, but they were so... colorful, not me. I sighed and came out of the bathroom and into the guest room. After making the bed, I grabbed all the clothes, folded them, and put them on the side of the bed. I wasn't going to be rude and leave all my stuff around. I then grabbed my hoodie and put it on; I put on my shoes and also grabbed my sketch notebook. I came out of the room and walked down the stairs. One of Gabriel Edwards' little brothers was standing there, one of the twins.
"Hi!" He said. "Big brother told us to always present ourselves to company. So, my name's Connor Edwards, I have a twin brother whose name is Drew Edwards. It is nice to meet you." He said in a rehearsed voice and stretched out his hand. I grabbed it and shook it. "Your name is Noelle, brother said it yesterday. He also said that we have to go eat, come on!" He pulled me forwards to the kitchen which was also the dining room.
The first thing I saw was Gabriel Edwards ... in an apron ... with hearts ... making French toast. I covered my face with the notebook, just in case I laughed (which was doubtful to happen).
"Oh, Noelle you came down! Connor grab a plate for Noelle, Leo make her a glass of juice. Noelle, go on, sit down." He said. I felt the little twin's hand leave mine and I uncovered my face and sat down on the table next to the kitchen. The black-haired kid from yesterday was in their fridge, so he was Leo Edwards.
"Gabe. Why hasn't Drew woken up yet?" Leo Edwards asked.
"I told him to wake up a few minutes ago he must be taking a shower." Gabriel Edwards said.
"Drew! Get out of there already you're going to be late!" A woman's voice yelled.
"That's our granny Abigail" Connor Edwards said. "Big brother does she know Noelle is here?"
Mr. Edwards stopped cooking and looked at his brother, his eyes wide. "I forgot to tell her."
At that moment, an older woman came into the room. She was short and looked around her late 60s, evidence of having once been a great beauty in her features. Her hair was gray and she had pale gray eyes that were surrounded by delicate glasses. She wore a blue dress, which actually looked really good on her. She looked at the kids, and then her gaze fell on me.
