Around a Week Later
Ashley felt much better, up and walking again. "Thanks again for visiting me so many times in the hospital." She said. I smiled. "No problem. I was dead worried for you." Ashley looked away. Was she blushing? "A-anyways, it's your birthday shopping today. Let's see what you want to buy."
I can't believe I'm spending my birthday with Team Crafted... And Ashley... I looked at her and smiled. She saw, and returned the smile, then looked ahead. "Look! An ice cream cart! Let's go get some!" "Ok!" We ran over to the cart, which was ran by a old man who was probably in his 70's. "What would you like?" He asked. "Chocolate." We said in sync, then started laughing. He laughed with us, then scooped some ice cream. "Here you go. Have a good day." "Thanks!" We paid him then walked off.
Ashley had brought me to a shopping center near the beach, full of shops and activities we could do. We saw amazing sand sculptures, street performers, and a lot of shops. When we were about to go back home, we walked past a jewelry shop, and I decided to go inside. "Ashley, let's go inside!" She nodded, then I dragged her inside by her arm. As I looked at the jewelry, Ashley just stopped. "Is that Jason?" She said, pointing at the cash register.
I turned to were she was pointed, then my eyes widened in suprise. Jason was beaming as the cashier gave him a small bag. The cashier said something, then Jason nodded, replying with something back. He walked towards us which made me turn around, my back facing him. "Ashley turn around!" I whisper-yelled. He walked right past us, not stoping, he didn't even glance at us, he just walked past us and left.
What did he buy? Was it a gift for me? I shook my head. No... He wouldn't spend so much money on me... Would he? Ashley's phone buzzed, then she checked it. "Hey Krystal, let's head home, it's getting late." I nodded in agreement.
When we got home, all the lights were off. "Doesn't look like anyone's home." I said, grabbing bags of stuff we bought earlier that day. Ashley grabbed some bags, then the keys, then started walking towards the house. "Grab the rest of the bags and meet me inside k?" I nodded, going into the car to get the bags on the other side of the seats. When I opened the door to the house, I meet pitch black darkness. "Ashley...?"
"SUPRISE!" The lights turned on, revealing party decorations and the members of Team Crafted, plus some more people. I felt my heart skip a beat from excitement. I started tearing up, then Jerome came up to me, frowning. "What's wrong?" "I-I have never h-had anyone do this for me!" I said, tears streaming down my cheeks. Her smiled, then hugged me. "Well we aren't anybody, we are family." I dropped the bags and hugged him back. "Thanks big bro."
He hugged me tighter. "No problem sis." He let go, then walked over to Mitch, who clung onto Jerome's arm and laid his head on Jerome's shoulder. "Go out the bags where the presents are." He said, but then a sort of skinny man with glasses and unshaven beard walked up to me. "I'll take them for you." He had a weird accent... Just like... "You are Bodil right!?" He nodded. "That is me." He picked up the bags, then walked off.
"Thank you guys so much!" My face was streaming tears. Ashley walked up to me, taking my hand. "Let me introduce you to some people here." She introduced me to Preston, Rob, Ian and Quentin who had returned from their trip, Ryan, Tylor, Ross, Jin, and so much more which made me so happy! "I'm so glad you guys are here oh my gosh." Adam stood on the stairs, then got everyone's attention.
"Alright, the cake and presents will be later. But for now, let's play some games!" He said, everyone lifted up their drinks in a cheers. We played Pin the tail on the Donkey, some Wii games like Sports and stuff, we danced and had so much fun! We also started having a small food fight, throwing pizza toppings, chips, and candy at one another. I threw a candy at Mitch and it hit him dead in the eye! While aiming some pepperoni at people, I realized Jason wasn't there... Yet again, I knew he would show up. Then, when I was about to throw some more candy, I heard someone knock on the door. I wonder who that is... I thought to myself when I opened the door.
I saw Jason, smiling and holding a bouquet of roses. "For you." He said, giving me the roses. My heart was pounding. "T-Thanks. Come in." He nodded, and as he walked in, I saw Ariana behind him. "Happy birthday Krystal!" She said with a big smile. My heart sank. Why is she here... She walked in, greeting everyone and went with Jason, holding onto his arm.
A little after doing some more activities and eating food made by my wonderful brother, we settled on the cake. "Ok birthday girl, you have to wear this crown we got just for you." They brought in a child's tiara that was made of plastic. "I don't wanna!" I pouted, but Mitch and Jerome put it on my head anyway. I sat on the couch in the living room, waiting for Mitch and Jerome to get the cake.
They brought in a green and brown cake, in the form of a minecraft dirt block. A stone pick axe was on the top, along with a candle that was a creeper. "Oh my god I love it!" Jason smiled, getting a camera and standing in front of the tv. "Ok, everyone get together! Group picture!" Everyone huddled in, smiling. "Ok, now let's do a funny face one!" Everyone made a funny face, me and Ashley just put bunny ears on on another, sticking out tongues out.
After the pictures, they lit the candle and started singing Happy Birthday. Once they finished, I paused, thinking of my wish. I hope every day will be as amazing like this. Then blew the candle. Once they moved the cake so we could eat later, we went to the presents. I got a wolf shirt from Ashley, a creeper plushy from Mitch and Jerome, a "budder" sword from Adam and Ty, an epic toy helicopter from Preston, Rob, and Ryan. A Mudkip Pokemon plushy from Quintein, sun glasses from Ian, and a minecraft glow stone night light from Bodil.
"Thank you all!" I said. Jason went up to me and gave me a small black box. "Here's mine." I opened it up to see a beautiful silver necklace with a locket. In side the locket, was a picture of all of us. I felt like tearing up, then hugged him. "Thank you." I whispered. He hugged back, then let go. "Also, I have something for Ariana." Ariana? He got her aside from everyone else, knelt on one knee, then got another black box out.
He slowly opened it, revealing a beautiful and expensive silver diamond ring. Ariana's eyes widened in suprise. "Will you marry me? We've been together for some time now and I think it's time..." She started tearing up. "Yes." She said, then put her arms around Jason as he stood up, kissing him. I felt my heart shatter into billions of pieces. My eyes started watering in sadness, then started streaming down. He was smiling, with Ariana. He was so happy and yet, I'm sad. Why... I felt anger and sadness build up inside of me. I couldn't hold it, so I just ran upstairs to my room, hearing the faint sound of Jason's voice calling for me.
Jason's POV
Ariana's lips met mine as she held me close. She said yes. After that, I turned back to the crowd, expecting Krystal to be smiling for me, but instead she was crying. Her eyes shows some kind of brokenness, sadness, and hurt. Tears dropped onto the floor, and each one felt like fire. She shook her head, then ran off. I tried going after her but Ariana held my arm. "Krystal!" I cried out.
Adam looked at me with disbelief, whispered something to Ashley, then went upstairs. "Babe, I need to go see if she's alright." I said softly. Ariana just held onto my arm tighter. "It seems like Ashley and Adam are going, let's stay here and enjoy the party." "B-but it's no party is the birthday girl isn't here?" Ariana just smiled. "It's fine. I'm sure she'll be back soon." What? No! I need to see Krystal! I looked at Ariana, but her eyes met mine. I became lost again, not knowing what to do. "Alright. Ashley and Adam should be fine without me..." Everyone started whispering, and congratulating us.
I've never seen Krystal so hurt... It was just like at the paint ball arena but... Worse. But why? Ariana put her head on my shoulder. "Babe I think I should go home now, it's getting late." I nodded, taking her to my car. "Can you drive me there? I don't think I'm able to drive." I smiled, kissing her on the head. "Ok, anything for you."
