Krystal's POV
Adam and Ashley kept on knocking on my door. "Come on, let us in." Adam kept on saying. I couldn't stop crying, I have been locked in my room for about an hour, the party had died down and I am guessing everyone has left by now.

"I-I'm f-fine." I said, sniffling. "No you're not. Let us in now." He said demandingly. "I-I just need s-some time alone!" I yelled, digging my face into more pillows. I heard him sigh, whisper something to Ashley and went downstairs. A minute later, I heard more people come upstairs. "Sis... Let us in." I heard Jerome's voice. I chose to ignore it, sobbing in my pillow. "Fine, I'll go in myself." He said, then I heard keys. Quickly, I grabbed my blanket and pillows and went into my closet.

I don't want them to see me like this. Not now... I closed the closet door until there was a small crack. Between the crack, I see Jerome peek his head in, then walked in, along with Mitch, Ashley, and Adam. "Krystal?" They looked around, then Ashley frowned. She walked towards the closet, making me dig my face into my pillow. She opened the door, looking down on me. I was hurled into a ball, covering what was a mess on my face.

She knelt down, putting her hand on my back. "Is... Is about Jason?" I could hear the pain in her voice. I nodded, keeping my face in the pillow. Adam walked up from behind, kneeling down also. "Come on, let's talk about this together." I tried to speak but the words got stuck in my throat, so I ended up nodding. I stood up, wiping my eyes and seeing Mitch and Jerome sitting on my bed, waiting for me to sit.

"What's wrong?" Jerome asked. I shook my head. "Nothing important." He gave me a serious look. "This is not nothing. If it made you ditch your party and look yourself in the room, it probably is important." I lowered my head, my hair covered my face. "It's just.... It's stupid..." "Nothing is stupid." I heard Mitch say. I sighed, whiling more tears. "It's... Jason. I just... I can't stand the way Ariana makes him happy. I want to make him happy like that... But when he proposed to her I just..."

I paused, thinking of the right words. "I just broke down..." "I know how you feel..." Ashley said, putting her chin on my head, hugging me. I sniffed, looking at her. "Y-you do?" She smiled. "Every day." After that, awkward silence filled the room. After about a minute, I spoke. "So what did Jason do after he..." The last word got stuck in my throat. "He left." "Oh." Mitch looked at me, smiling.

"How about I make us some hot chocolate and we can watch what ever movie Krystal wants to watch. After all, it's her 17th birthday." That made me smile a little. "It's fine. Y-you guys choose." Jerome and Mitch looked at one another, then smiled. "Hunger Deans!" They both yelled, jumping off the bed and running downstairs. "Typical." Adam mumbled, then followed them downstairs.

"Hey, forget about Jason. You have me." Ashley said, smiling. I felt my face burn a little, then returned the smile. "I know." Ashley chuckled, then got off the bed. "Come on, let's go. We need the birthday girl too." "Alright." And with that, I followed her down stairs where everyone else was.

The next morning at breakfast, Jason sat quietly across from me, eating his pancakes Jerome has prepared for everyone. After a lot of awkward silence, Jason finally spoke. "Krystal about last night... What happened?" I looked up at him only to meet his eyes, full of curiosity and pain. I quickly looked back down at my pancakes. "Krystal!" "I-it was nothing." Jason put his hand in the table. "It was not nothing. I saw your eyes, hurt. Why? It was just like when we were at the paint ball arena! Why is that?!" He said, raising his voice at me.

I shrank into my chair. "I-..." I couldn't speak. I just stood up, and walked away. Jason put his hand up to stop me but I've already started going upstairs.

Third Person

"Idiot..." Adam mumbled, standing up and walking after Krystal. Jason looked at Jerome, confused. Jerome was just staring at him with disapproval and turned back to washing dishes. "What did I do? Why is everyone turning on me?!" Jason said, his voice a little louder. Jerome just kept on washing the dishes, then paused. "Krystal." Jason looked at him confused, then looked looked down at the table, digging his fingers into his hair.

"Why is she mad at me..." He whispered. Jerome dropped the spoon he was washing and turned around. "You really don't know? She cares about you. A lot." Jason just stared at him confused. She... Cares about me? "What should I do now? She probably hates me now..." Jerome just shook his head. "She needs time. Just... Stay with your girlfriend till she's ready." Jason nodded, standing up and walking away. "Let's see how this turns out..." Jerome whispered, following Jason upstairs.

Krystal's POV
I was sobbing in my pillow again, this time I just ran in and jumped on my bed. No closing the door, no locking it, I was just overwhelmed with emotions I was to quick for it. "Don't cry. He didn't mean it. He just has a short temper that's all." Adam said, soothing. "You guys are like family, my little family, and I'm the father." Tears kept streaming down. "I-I know. I-I just c-can't help w-when people y-yell at me. I-It happened so mu-much in the orphanage." I kept sniffling and hiccing.

I heard someone else walk in, but I kept my face buried in my pillow, which was wet from tears. I felt someone's arm wrap around me in comfort, putting their face in my hair. "I'm sorry." I heard Jason say, whispering it. I paused, crying even more now. I turned around and hugged him back. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry..." He muttered, hugging even tighter. "It's ok it's my fault..." I felt the tears stop.

"I didn't know. I-" I hugged him even tighter. "I know, it was my fault. I shouldn't have kept it from you." I said, feeling relaxed and comforted in his arms. I felt lost in his arm, in a space that I didn't ever want to leave. For what seemed like forever, Jason let go, searching my eyes for something. "I'm so sorry Krystal... I didn't know I was hurting like that it's just... Ariana makes me happy." I felt a sting in my chest, then he wiped a tear away, smiling. "You make me happy too. Ever since I saw you I've been smiling so much. Thank you for that." He hugged me again. Once he let go, our eyes met again.

"Jason I-..." I trailed off, getting lost in his gaze. Slowly, we leaned closer. His head tilted a bit, as of mine. My heart started pounding as our faces were a few inches apart. Then... His phone buzzed. He sat straight up, checking his phone. "That was Ariana... I have to go um..." I nodded, frowning a bit. "It's fine. I get it. Go to her." He gave me a sad smile, then walked out of the room. Ashly knocked on the door, peeking her head.

"Hey Krys." I smiled sadly. "Hey Ash." She walked into the room, looking around then sat on the bed with me. "So I saw Jason walk out. Care to explain what happened?" I sighed, remembering the amazing moment I had shared with him. "I was crying again cause he raised his voice at me. Then once I came to my room, he followed me a few minutes after, hugging me from behind and apologizing. After that, we got lost in one another's eyes and..." I paused. "And?" "And we almost kissed... Until his girlfriend texted him. Then he left." "You guys al-almost kissed?" Her voice cracked when she said almost. I nodded.

I looked at her, her eyes full of pain, then she looked away then looked back, giving me a smile. "That's great." I could hear she was covering something in her throat. She hugged me, which surprised me a little, then let go. "I'm glad you got closer to... Jason."   I smiled back. "Thanks Ashley. Thank you for being there as a friend." I hugged her back. Damn I'm in a hugging mood. She hugged back. "I wish I could be there for you more then that." We broke apart, I looked at her confused.

"How could you be there more for me? You have always been by my side an-" Ashley frowned a little, then smiled again. "Never mind that. Right now, I feel like going to get some hot chocolate  from Mitch with my friend." She said, nudging me with her elbow then went downstairs.
